Neither does a baby start running when he/she should be crawling. Kenyans are not known for their patience and this could be our Achilles heel in devolution. We want everything NOW!

The fast pace of devolving services to county governments could hurt the country’s economic wellbeing, resulting in high interest rates for credit.

In its latest report on the country, the International Monetary Fund has cautioned the government over the fast rate of devolution and transfer of money to county governments, saying it could strain cash management and cause unstable interest rates.

Devolution as construed in the pre-constitution bomas talks was about power back to the people but what we really need is resources to be available to the people mashinani and everywhere else. The thing is for Kenyans to stop thinking that there is an end to development such that it needs to happen NOW!

It's not devolution that is slowly destroying us but rather the people we have entrusted with leadership at the counties. .We can only blame ourselves because we get the leadership we deserve

Shots fired in Kisumu County assembly fight. The fight began inside the county assembly and spilled out of the chambers before spreading to the nearby police station.
