This is the bus after the carnage

The roof completely torn away. As essyk says the standards of body assembly is nganya...ndio hi basi, kazi ya welder mwenye alichomelea viti ndio inaonekana. Those who survived were thrown off the bus after the emergency exit window opened, the others were sliced up by mabati..

We can argue that the 72year old driver was fatigued but are we certain that the drivers on the road have proper eyesight capable to drive at night?

The add salt to injury, the first responders are the local residents who have very little if any knowledge of First Aid let alone handling of injured passengers. So those not dead but bleeding might just bleed to death. If Ambulances show up, they are not well equipped or the nurses dont have required training. The hospitals/dispensaries are non-existent so by the time the injured get care, they are either dead or will have obtained more injuries.

The MP stated that the road was diverted recently and since then the number of accidents has shot up such that they can now call the place a black spot. If this is indeed true, what engineering do those in KENHA people use? It took ages for them to redesign the Salgaa spot.

The bus had stopped for passengers to relieve themselves in the bush, then it crashed less than a kilometer away. The driver was most likely very awake/alert after that stop and bus may not have picked up speed. So how did he veer off the road?

Quote:
The driver had stopped to allow passengers to relieve themselves less than a kilometre away from the accident scene, he said. “When the bus stopped, we alighted and relieved ourselves by the roadside. Barely a kilometre from there, the driver lost control of the bus and it veered off the road before rolling into the deep valley,” Muyamba said.

“I’m lucky to be alive because I was seated at the back. When the bus started rolling, I was thrown out of the window throw the rear windscreen.” Muyamba said he was travelling to his rural home in Vihiga for the burial of his mother that was slated for today.

Whoever was at the steering wheel is the one to blame. Nobody else. I am happy the dereva has been arrested. People should be held responsible for their actions, not blaming 3rd parties. Otherwise munataka CS afanye nini? You want him to be sitting behind every bus driver and help him (driver) shikilia the steering wheel?
