...Citizen ni PNU damu. You should hear Mutegi Njau (Power Breakfast) in the morning always lambasting ODM! At least Gathu is abit sober. And do you know who Macharia is?

@magz,I prefer citizen news to all,its a double edged sword that only spares the orezo. Again, all the news items on ktn will b found in citizen in detail. Well,im the kind of guy who watches news with the remote in my hand...

...the time the program has been sloted is not good...9.40 pm on a sunday. Most people go to bed at 9.00 on sundays ( according to a research I read somewhere) CITIZEN should change the time, probably at 8.00 pm or just immediately after the 7.00 o'clock news. At least this is the only comedy that will be running for now, after Churchill decided that he wants to repackage his and go global ( wonder who in Uganda, leave alone UK,US) will understand his TRIBAL jokes!!!). Is anybody in CITIZEN listening?

There was something similar in the UK when I lived there in the late 80s (but do I say?). Can't remember the name of the programme.

It was very popular...Margie Thatcher went to the studio one day and interacted with her caricature character! Would any of our politicians be so bold?

@Mukiha,

Our politicians can't stand that.If they ever walk into citizen studios,it will not be to meet their caricatures but to strangle them......

But those 'creatures' look scary, especially those Ruto hands, they look like boiled sweet potatoes.

But I doubt whether it will turn out to be more humour...Remember the NTV's funny weekly bulletin and the infamous Eric Omondi show which appeared thrice only? And the now useless KTN's so u think u can dance(is there anyone here who still watch this hopeless KTN program?)

IMHO,Royal Media Services have run the most creative TV outfit over the past 3-5 years. That is,in the Kenyan context.

They challenged predicable programming by considerably moving away from Spanish Soaps,The Bold,Days etc and giving more time to local programming i.e. Inspekta Mwala,Tafrija,Papa Shirandula,Makutano Junction,Siri etc.

These are programs that majority of Kenyans across all ages can relate to. Smart move. Now,the other stations are finding it difficult to do the same without looking like obvious copycats.

The Power Breakfast show was a huge hit and is now replicated across all TV stations.

The series they started (can't remember what the name was) that traced the events surronding political assassinations. I remember the piece Belinda did on JM that was just fantastic; it could compete with the best on any TV channel in the world. Not sure why they stopped it.

Friday nights with Bruce Lee & Co.! Man! This one I do not agree with. Totally! Who watches these things? Anyway seriously,I only watch them for the comedy of seeing the 'Crouching Tiger' leap once and kick 6 people without touching the ground. Ha! Memories are truly made of this.

Then Afrodizzia (ikinipata). Let's get down! Citizen Extra is another original thought.

They have stuck with substantially mature but good-looking news presenters when everyone else is scrambling for blondes.

They have tried to keep to their niche and not ape other stations (they just poach their best talent LOL). Remember KTN's Presenter and how NTV hurriedly tried to come up with some very similar program as a direct counter? You don't do that! Else it clearly shows that you are being led. Just come up with something totally different that can grab the market's attention. T'was a good idea for RMS to resist the temptation.

So I am really wating to see how this one turns out. Keep 'em coming. Hope I am not disappointed.

Overhanging clouds of political patronage not withstanding,I have to give it to them.

Kudos RMS!

The xyz show is a 3D animation political satire production by Gado and some other folks who I cannot remember. Can get them at xyzshow.com. Visited the site some months back and they had trailers showing and stuff. Do not know about now.

3D is not my thing but good idea seeing that they do not even need to pay the actors/actresses for the productions. Citizen news is surprisingly balanced
and on content they seem to be the only TV station with any strategy. And they work with good producers on their programs - no Cobra Squad horror shows.

Another thing going for them with the local series is that you do not get pirates selling the latest episodes on the streets leaving the station showing episodes that are years late. Who watches 24 or Heroes on Kenyan TVs still?
