...and they think sponsors are a blessing.

This are just the few who have gone for testing, many haven't. Guys, be careful of these young boys and girls now that you know.

BBI will solve it

Slaybody slayqueen culture on steroids. Na hakuna haibu. Money hunger is the root cause. You find even well educated ladies (and dudes) over 30 are not immune. When a woman (or man) loves pesa more than they love God or their own soul, they will swing penis or vajayjay anywhere at anytime with anybady to get that ca-ching. It's sad and shameful.

If the contemporary God wasn't money hungry then Christianity, or even Islam would never been a matter of such militant expansion as we've seen...

Systems are there to help in preventing or minimizing adultery. It is true that generally a man enjoys having multiple sexual relationships. And if a man is allowed many wives as his need and as he can afford, then there will no or less need for extramarital sex. Unfortunately, that people people prefer to extramarital affairs, they are following their desires and messing up...

That's why we we have the lowest rate of infidelity in the worlds that allow worlds in the world that allow polygamy, because people will know it is an option available for them. So no anxiety about it. And no feeling to cheat.

1. Sub-Saharan Africa registers the highest in the world
It is home to over 12% of world’s population and 2/3 of all people infected.
Southern Africa leading, with adult prevalence rates over 20%.
Other countries that follow in the region are Swaziland and Botswana.

2. Compare this with HIV/AIDS prevalence in the Middle East and North Africa, which is around 0.2%.

At the end of the day, life style really matters.

Interesting how you conveniently use the term "extramarital affairs" to justify a muslim having se.x with upto 4 women at the same time while condemning other people for doing the same thing. You are happy when muslims have multiple se.x partners but do not want others to enjoy "the same luxury".

Tycho,
interesting but below the belt Tu Quoque fallacy. How can the creator of all including money and to whom the earth belongs,be hungry for money? He warned you of false prophets who claim to do things in His name. God does not need money to save the called.

I blame Hellyweird. And it is getting worse, bro. With social media, whatsapping and endless variety available to the young, they are no longer interested in love and relationships, but short term thrills. Most parents wa leo have no clue what their teenage and early twennies girl childs are doing that all starts from a sext from a haggard boy who may have munched her entire class. We are living in the last days my friend. And we have not even started talking about the homosexuality/lesbianism element that has taken deep root in that generation thanks again to Hellyweird influences. Take your sons and daughters and wives to church to seek God before everyone is consumed just like Sodom and Gomorrah was.

It's my fair opinion that human ideas about God change from time to time and that generally, the creator you're talking about may in fact, not be the object of worship.

First of all why is nobody questioning the source? Second of all how many under 24s are there in Kenya? 300k is a tiny percentage of them, less than 5%. That's no cause for alarm or self righteousness. After all men of all ages are the ones who love to feast on under 25s

That is true. So sad to see situation our youth go through nowadays. I saw a clip yesterday showing a school girl, with her school bag, stopping a truck and after some chat she boarded... This is likely poverty, hence parents cannot afford fare to&fro school...

@hardwood, yes, we need to champion for a society of moral people. There is no excuse to indulge in sex outside marriage, whether one partner or multiple, it does not matter. The youth too should not indulge in teenage sex. These are called extra-marital. it is simple English, nothing convenience there.

If you want to reduce this pandemic, then do not go near to adultery. Surely it is a shameful deed and evil, opening roads (to other evils). To us, our Lord has prohibited the shameful deeds, be it open or secret, sins and trespasses against moral society. Not only is illegal sex bad, but also anything that leads to illegal sex. These things include: dating, free mixing of the sexes, provocative dress, nudity, obscenity, and pornography.

@@hardwood, while marriage has commitment in the equation, extra-marital affair does not have. Do not confuse the two. Also sex partner who is a husband or wife is different from sex partner who is mpango wa kando, do not confuse the two brother. There is something called marriage. Do not pretend not to know what it is.

This is a very big contributor to this phenomenon. Some of these HIV+ under 24's have survived with the condition for all their lives, so kinda success story for them. Remember 24 years sits nicely in the early to mid nineties when HIV was at its menacing worst.

Just sad to think of a 24 yr old beauty with motherhood instincts but then must explain to her man before marriage that she was born with the virus

There was some stats a while back showing that more schoolgirls are HIV positive, than the percent of schoolboys who have the virus. It meant that it is not young boys who are sleeping with these girls. It is old men... Which further means a few lot of middle/old men are working on large number of girls... Yaani, majority of young or old men are faithful but there is a section of them who target school girls

True. There are millions of under 24s. Also people graduate from university at 22-23yrs and at that age wametembea from "karumaindo" to all the ridges in the village.

This is what really frustrates me about the kenyan society. Somebody throws a figure and from the reactions nobody took time to internalize the figure, process it and put it into perspective. Any medic will tell you we are experiencing what they call being a victim of our own success. About 20 years ago, kenya made huge strides in reducing the mortality rates of kids born with HIV. They are now in their early 20s. Those born with the virus 5years before them are all dead and buried. So the 300,000 is no big deal.

More fuzzy statistics usually thrown around.
1.In 1998, 3,000 Kenyans died from road accidents. In 2017 the official number was 2,900. After 1,000,000 bodabodas have been added on the roads. To be clear, the actual number of deaths is around 16,000.

2.Nairobi contributes 60% of GDP.

3.85% of kenyans are christians.
4.There were 1,000,000 people at a rally in Uhuru park. BTW the park can hardly hold 80,000 and it only happened once in 2002.
