@PesaNane - Here is a thought. The 1H ends on 30th Sep so they want it out of the way as a payable item on their balance sheet. As stated earlier I don’t know why they changed the date.

I think a major shareholder may have signed an agreement to sell his shares with the agreement that he collects dividends for financial year ended.

Why not just take 1.20 less WHT more for the shares?

It will still be payable on the balance sheet because the payment date is beyond 30 September.
A 1 day trading difference is not that significant

Yes, agreed. Why even close the register on 2nd Oct i.e. cross into another reporting period?
