Major underground spring discovered during tunnel construction. https://www.businessdail...58872-y06cua/index.html
Quote:Residents of Kajiado West are set to benefit from clean water that has been oozing out of the Standard Gauge Railways tunnel in Ngong since construction work began on the hilly landscape outside Nairobi.
China Road and Bridge Corporation, the company building the railway, discovered the natural water source with a capacity of 1700 cubic meters per hour while constructing the 4.5 kilometre tunnel at Kimuka area of Ngong.
The water, which began oozing from an underground aquifer three months ago, has already formed a stream stretching 100 kms downstream.
Water experts have tested and found it fit for human consumption.
The Chinese firm has since been working with local communities to tap the fresh water and channel it for use by 2,500 families in Kajiado County where access to clean water stands at 35 per cent.
Plans are also under way to use the water for irrigation and improve food production in the area.

Copy and Paste Extract:Quote:The China Communications Construction Company is running the $3.8 billion SGR project stretching from Mombasa to Kisumu.
China offered 90 percent of the funds but has withheld the financing of the line from Naivasha to Kisumu on condition that the country will carry out a feasibility study for the entire project.
Kenya’s SGR is being constructed by the China Road and Bridge Corporation, a subsidiary of CCCC. STOP PRESS: SGR does not have a feasibility study in place? Or am I reading that sentence wrong? Source Link: https://kenyanwallstreet...nyan-oil-terminal-deal/

It's unbelievable all this construction has been done in a nick of time, for project coordination and completion time, you have to give it up to Chinese. ....He who began a good work in you will carry it on to completion..

Kenyan station constructed 1905 England station constructed 1850 The reason ours is not as good is because while they were busy upgrading, they found a place to damp the removed materials which were obsolete in 1905
