Safaricom is investing big on infrastructure.
The number of notices on the newspaper about extension of use of properties to include safaricom GSM base station are many.

As airtel continues with its expansion of the 4G network outside Nairobi and Mombasa... Airtel gave a wideberth to fibre infrastructure... Shame!

The thing with technology, it changes fast and you have to be first. Only a radical change in technology could help Telkom & Airtel leapfrog Safaricom e.g If Airtel went for 5G as an alternative to FTTH (Fibre to the home).

Airtel is comfortable where they are

True...

Evolution if tech can cause major disruptions in a sector...

Airtel isn't comfortable where they are...

Their entry into Africa wasn't well thought out...

The inexperience had the better of them...

Airtel should not get any favours or concessions however loud they scream. Safaricom fought their way to the top by investing, partnering and innovating- things their competitors are very poor at.
If they don't shape up and get to work their loss making streak will be the hallmark of their presence on Kenya
Start!

Tho it has a lot of truths, it feels more like a piece written by a PR firm

Big Brother is watching.
If someone can hack into Safaricom's database then the hackers will have access to a lot of personal data and bio-metrics.
