I'm rooting for Nigeria. Hope England don't make it out of the group stages. They talk too much!

It was difficult not to admire Argentina yesterday. Infact Nigeria seemed to have done well by just loosing 1-0 to Messi's team.

But I tell you, watching the poetic flow that is German soccer with their 25-year olds, currently winning 4-0 against Australia, has left me very forgetful of Argentina's performance.

Ghana: nice play, no results. Nigeria: probably better than ghana, xcellent Enyeama dude(makmende), gives me mo hope after such a sterling performance on an xcellent team. Algeria: hopeless, indisciplined, boring SA: Iko tu humu humu. So far Argentina, S. Korea n Yamany r definitely making it to 2nd round.

Football made in Germany. That is how a World Cup team should play! Sehr schöne Fußball!

What a performance by Germany...its amazing how these guys played considering most of their players were youngsters. I must say at this point, without considering the remaining teams yet to play, the Germans look like they can go all the way to the final.

I'm eagerly awaiting to see what The Mighty Oranje, La Furia Roja and the Selecao will do in the soming matches. Clearly Germany will not be sniffed at too. As for African teams, so far we lack the cutting edge in the final third.

Germany! Too good to be true. May be they've been lucky to play a weak team - but if that is not the case, then they might as well be in the finals.

Most African teams suffer from one problem - end product. Ghana IMHO did really well in defence and midfield but hapo mbele they should have scored more. Messi cannot always be stopped since Makmende (Enyeama) doesn't play for every African team.

Algeria were doing more or less OK until a rush of blood to the head... enough said.

Lets see if Cameroon have better finishing against Japan leo.

Na the English need to be dumped out of this cup ASAP. I simply can't stand their press.

On the contrary, there ain't much to sing about Germany's performance. The central line all the way from the back is weak. They seem strong on either flanks and i also believe Neuer is a good keeper. When they come across a team that attacks from either wings, they surely will be exposed.....Good play though albeit against a very weak team.
Nothing great was ever achieved without enthusiasm.

Sasa hi ni nini? At 90:00 Japan 1 0 Cameroon. The Samurai have never won a world cup match out of their homeland.

And Cameroon had to choose to be the first to succumb to their sword.

How can you have one of the worlds best strikers playing in the right wing? Eto'o is centre forward. That's what foreign coaches who don't understand African Football do.
Reminds me of Hey playing Musa Otieno in Midfield.

Netherlands did not sparkle as we all hoped. Maybe if Robben was fit.

simonkabz, ati SA boring? They nearly won it in the end when the ball struck the post. Plus their goal was clinical.

Italy at this point in time look like the worst defending champions in history. All thanks to Lippi, the man who guided them to the trophy in 2006. Haven't people heard of quitting at the top?

It has been suggested that Germany's success is in part due to the fact that they had introduced the "Jabulani" football in the Bundesliga prior to the WC and hence many of their players got used to the ballApplause , unlike other countries which had the same opportunity but ignored.

Ivory coast need to make Africa proud leo....Drool

That explains a lot @nostoppingthis, those guys looked very comfortable on the ball where most teams have been struggling to make a decent pass. African teams are just shooting the ball wildly, that's why the goal by SA was something to savour, almost ripped the net!

The cameroon and Italy coach thought they knew it all by leaving good players coz of sentiments, look wat has happenned to them!!!

I dont care much about Lippi (italy has never been my team) but this Le Guen guy was a big mistake for cameroon.....the guy plays Eto'o on the right, drops kameni, leaves A. Song out and only introduces Geremi late into the game nktest!!!

Cameroon had the best chance to proceed as their group looked easy but now......argghh!!!!!
