Is the husband/boyfriend of current Senator for Nakuru involved in these manenos? It may help explain the flashy election campaign she ran that eliminated all opponents in the morning? Quote:The Prisons department is on the spot for spending Sh43 million to procure bullet-proof jackets that cannot even protect warders against a knife stab.
Auditor-General Edward Ouko says the 600 body armour jackets were delivered without the ballistic plates that offer protection against bullets.
An audit of the department found that 300 bullet-proof jackets were procured at a cost of Sh22,275,000 and another 300 at a price of Sh20,998,000.
The department’s records show that goods were delivered and received into the stores and later distributed to various prisons stations without being inspected for strength.

Nowadays, I no longer complain about Jubilee. I empathize with Uhuru and pray to God he succeeds in at least reducing corruption. The above case is enough proof that a thorough lifestyle audit would "drain the swamp".

Sad but i think that is what will happen.

Hope that he has at least one advisor who will tell him that the only thing he needs to work for in the next four years is his legacy. Maybe the NIS boss who normally serves his reports raw including the unpleasant truth. Otherwise, history would judge him very harshly. As it is, worse than Moi.

Sad but i think that is what will happen. Why do guys amass such levels of wealth poor souls The civil service is made up of thieves. What else can they do with the money really? Quote:“Investigations revealed that at some point, they were making huge cash deposits into their account in tranches of Sh200,000 almost daily. They could not explain the source of such deposits, which made us believe the amounts were proceeds of crime,” said Kariuki. He claimed that an analysis of Gikonyo’s mobile phone number revealed that he has received a total of Sh43, 913,116 through mobile money transfers sent to him by directors and managers of clearing and forwarding companies.
Given that Gikonyo works for KRA he perfected the art of tax evasion Quote:He added that EACC’s investigations further revealed that Gikonyo, his wife and their company were involved in tax evasion that had denied KRA millions of shillings. “The assessment report revealed that they owed taxes totalling Sh38 million. They are involved in corruption offences of dishonesty and tax evasion and must be made to surrender to the Government whatever they have illegally acquired,” said Kariuki. The commission wants the court to allow it to sell the property through public auction and the proceeds deposited in the Consolidated Fund.

Advice for civil servants with "side hustles".
-Never receive mpesa directly. Have some mpesa agent somewhere to handle the funds. -insist on cash money. -Rent via proxy some upmarket apartment and put a huge safe in there to store your millions. Banks are no longer safe. -invest your funds at NSE via nominees.

An internal audit covering January 2016 and December 2017 exposed suspected misuse of funds.
A report by the Judiciary Directorate of Audit and Risk Management flagged multiple questionable transactions.
Chief Registrar Ann Amadi has written to the DCI to investigate the matter.
"The report reveals a substantial amount of revenue was lost through fraudulent schemes. We are requesting your office to commence investigations and take action on those found culpable," reads Amadi's letter to the DCI.
The Registrar further states that her office is ready to support investigators to ensure the culprits are brought to book "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The problem is you hope when you should fear & fear when you should hope: - Jesse Livermore .

There is a case in Nairobi that will certainly open the Pandora’s Box and by the time it is dispensed with in the next few months, we shall have an idea of how corruption networks in the Land Registry works.
It could be the tip of the iceberg, but welcome to the world of the Kangethe family.
The Court of Appeal has already termed the case as “perplexing” and as a “measure of how high the country has soared in the corruption index.”
HOTELS AND RESORTS
It is the story of an “intricate web of a fraudulent syndicate” — to use the Court of Appeal’s description — that involves family members who, with the connivance of officials at the Ministry of Lands, made different titles to the same piece of land and charged it to different banks.
For that simple act, they walked away with hundreds of millions of shillings from various banks without raising any alarm. With the money, they purchased Nairobi’s Princess Hotel and they built a three-star hotel in Ngara, where Verckys Bar and Resort operates.
Caught in the web are lawyers, top banks and leading real estate agents and valuers.

The Public Procurement Information Portal is now officially up and running. This is an excellent opportunity to observe “corruption in the making” or is it? Take, for example, a private company named Weld “Con” Limited Reason For Award: This is the only bidder who proceeded to financial evaluation and met the set evaluation criteria Tanks and Vessels construction at KPRL, Changamwe, Kipevu Oil Terminal, Mombasa No permit Number. Permit number “expired” 3 out of 4 Director Details missing Missing details include ID numbers and nationality. Have a look and make your own judgment. (Link)
