How do you go for Obado before you go for Awiti?
Quote:EACC is also investigating Sh2.6 billion payments made by the Migori devolved unit.
Nine companies associated with a Mr Jared Kwaga, believed to be one of Mr Obado’s proxies, were granted Sh2.6 billion tenders in three years.
Investigators say the money was used to put up palatial houses, hotels and other properties in the county.
EACC adds that Mr Kwaga wired millions of shillings from his account to those of Mr Obado’s two daughters, Scarlet Susan Okoth and Acholla Okoth.
The children’s accounts have since been closed.
I have not heard anything about Awiti yet
Oooh OK, but guys are that stupid, using your immediate relatives account. In the process putting the whole family in danger of Kamiti.
Those days, family and proxy companies were seemingly adequate escape routes, not anymore with Haji-Kinoti.... utajua haujui.
I'm laughing the way friends and family of the accused persons are refusing to post surety because the source of their wealth will be investigated and probably frozen as well...
BBI will solve it :)

Just as the argument in the other thread goes, why waste doctors and people of skill in prisons? Let them work for the state/public!
The final effect here appears to be total submission to the powers that be.
And if I'm correct then we may be looking at very critical times ahead.

Tycho you are losing me. So a chicken thief should not be in prison because we can use his skills in protecting chicken?
These people are thieves and don't belong with the rest of the society. Let them rot in prison. Don't forget to demolish each and every sign of their wealth as they are terminated like the cockroaches they are. Thieves are not good people. Tumeelewana?

Prisons are costly establishments, nowadays the trend is to decongest them. Not only that, there's a school of thought that looks at crime as disease.
And if everything has a 'dollar value' then we can balance effects.
And that's how I get concerned that we may be taking a similar path but without a clear vision of what we may be doing. That could create a loophole that can be abused by governments and state authorities.

Tycho this forum is litered with complaints about corruption in this country. I for one decided never to vote simply because I thought whoever I would vote for was corrupt.
Now when the man I did not vote for decides to clean the cockroaches, you start another philosophical thread.
Listen, these people are thieves. When you kill a cockroach you don't start saying that it's kids are nice people and the structures they created are good for a spider to live in.
You destroy everything that reminds you of a cockroach. It's children and grandchildren and each and every structure it ever built.
You start with the big cockroaches ala Kideros, then start going for the ones who figure out that someone has died and change the title to their names.
Only then shall we get rid of cockroaches in this country.
I wish I had voted Uhuru and Sonko this last election.
Thieves are not good people. Tumeelewana?

I think it feels good for common mwananchi to witness white collar crime and impunity being punished.
I'm also happy that white collar criminals are being exposed and that our political sensibilities can be aroused.
But when it comes to critically looking at the criminal justice system and its emphasis on correction we need to be a bit more cautious.
On the other end of the spectrum is the young person from the slums and low end areas being gunned down. I'm not sure that such strategies show clear thinking.
