Lady MP is furious after the hotel denied her and her husband access to a room they had earlier booked because they didn't have proof of marriage

Who walks around with a marriage cert? Some of these hotels should be taken to court on grounds of discrimination.

It would be nasty for the hotel if it ended up in court!

Now all married people should ask their spouses spending in Kericho to only stay at this hotelsmile

But then again, marriage cert is a small thing for River Rori Printers

They have a very clear sign at the entrance on the same. I really doubt the case would go anywhere....and are they the first? Nope!!. Most xtian guest houses around the country demand for the same. I have personally encountered this at an ACK guesthouse in Butere, Kisumu and another one in Nakuru (Opposite Eveready.Imani guest house it should be. Very nice place)......what is it anyway?. One night on your own wouldn't make a big difference and if you must, get a refund and go huko kwa waingásmile

Management reserves the right to admission, she is now saying it is an "anti kalenjin" hotel becaise her husband is kalenjin, and stoking ethnic animosity calling wakikuyu "hawa watu" in Kericho, openly on a mike, imbicile, had never heard of her but she dresses, looks llke and behaves like k-street trash.

boss - just because many people are doing it does not make it legal. Unless it's a private members club they are walking on thin ice because Kenya has 5 types of marriages recognized by law. Christian Marriage, Civil marriage, Muslim Marriage, Traditional Marriages and the one you stay with a woman for 6 months and pap! - she becomes your wife.

I think the owner is very clear. He is simply saying, "You can come and ferk your wife from my business......anything else mmmmmh!.....Why? I have seen businesses which encourage ferkin anybody from their premises and they have ended up breaking families". what is illegal here?

Kweli, even some bakers refused to bake a cake for gays in the very liberal US and failed when they went to sue them in court, some people commenting do not understand the difference between a value system, and discrimination, you just can't take your liberal nonsense anywhere, businesses are based on values.

Have you missed the point about discrimination on the other 4 types of marriage because you think marriage comes in a certain box?

You are assuming a certificate only comes with one type of marriage, you can get for any of those you have mentioned, especially a couple of mpigs, and your I.d printed with new husband's name, really this argument makes no sense to me, because it would mean anyone wanting to run such a business is doing it illegally, yet the jamaa has a signboard.

Someone should do a case study on this hotel to find out what the effect of this publicity will have on their business. I have a feeling they will be overwhelmed with bookings. Kenya ni nchi ya fundamentalists.

I think the UK outlawed what the US upheld - I am no lawyer but I noticed our judicial system references the commonwealth cases much more than american cases (sijui why). Sijui kwanini mnapuuza (wishful thinking does not alter reality). Akienda kortini we may have some ground breaking judgement resulting from it. it's not a joke.

only once REGULARIZED do they get certs... they don't become marriages when certs are issued.

Not with the below unless you can prove you are blind, illiterate or both. The second rule therein would be difficulty to maintain while on top of you oppositesmile I mean, how do you stay calm when landing?

I support maximum fine of a goat if the hotel is wrong, no need to go to court, Mutahi Ngunyi paid Raila a goat when luos were on his throat, na mambo ikaisha, these are mere mpigs, as njunge said, one night alone vumilia manyege tu! That will also be the judges opinion.
