The issue here is parents generally are looking for ways to reduce cost of living not necessarily school uniforms, the cause is rotten leadership at all levels. Similar uniforms will not stop teachers from directing you to specific shops, as a parent I can confirm been directed to buy school socks(grey with green white strips) at school outfitters when I see similar socks in my mtaa shop. Guys, it s a political question guys, Government is doing business with us right from the PORK to the MCA

An easy option is for the GoK to come with a set of like 3-5 colours that can be made even at the local Jua Kali level. Then the school boards can choose the colour combinations they prefer for the top and bottom. The local fundis will be able to have these limited colours in their tu-shops, cutting off the greedy school heads.

Same-colour-suits-all may may not sell.

How do they tell if you got the socks at the local store? Are they checking receipts or something. When did it get this bad?
