Ethiopia is a very closed society and the State controls all the sectors. It is also a police state with security agencies spread even in private offices where they are represented as part of staffing. Google the story of some Kenyans Telecoms engineers who went to set up some systems there and disappeared and you get the gist of what happens there. Doing business there would be akin to farmers choice expanding to Mecca

forget the dominance news. its outdated and politically instigated.

check this out;

If You Have Money To Invest, Then Safaricom is your BEST BET at the NSE for the 2018/19 period https://sokodirectory.co...-for-the-2018-19-period/

Welcome to the Virtual Republic of Wazua.

According (LINK) to the “About Page” Hidalgo Investments Ltd, the “owners” of Soko Directory:

Quote:
Hidalgo Investments is an investment company with diverse interests in the fields of finance, government tenders, business consultancy and corporate image consultancy and legal research, and was incorporated in 2008 under the Laws of Kenya, Cap 486.

Neither being too clever nor too foolish, my mind got stuck at “diverse interests in the fields of …. Government Tenders …..

Are you a Kenyan Tender-prenuer?

Secondly, I get the impression that your sentiments are in contradiction with those expressed by Citi

Quote:
Citi bank analysts have blasted Safaricom in a research note, downgrading its recommendation to sell saying the company has reached market saturation.

“Valuation is at historical peak, expectations are coming down — Safaricom share price re-rating, which reached a historic peak, appears to be disconnected from expectations, which continue to decline.

We are concerned that downside risks are starting to emerge and are likely to drive the valuation premium lower.” Citi noted.
