And they have to stay there for a few more weeks until a rescue plan is in place....How does one remain sane after such an ordeal.

They are young so recovery is first...to them its an adventure to some extent....but so sad.

They'll have to wait for 4 months before they can be rescued.

The good thing about most boys and children in general is their desire to live.

The coach is forced to desire to live, even if he'd wish to die.

Of course the coach will need some interrogation if he ever comes out of it 'alive'. Maybe deep inside he's burning in a kind of Doti's Jehanam.

Why is it that humans are almost always compelled to live?

You're right.

The only fear I have is that of dumbing people down...

You know even @Impunity is a fun of 'Ulysses'. And as per reputation he is just but a humble welder at Kariobangi light industries.

Quote:
Level of oxygen in cave has dropped
The level of oxygen in the cave where the boys are trapped has dropped to 15%, authorities have confirmed. The usual level is around 21%.

Asked how long that would last the boys, deputy commander Chalongchai Chaiyakham replied: “I’m not a medical person, I can’t answer that.”

Maintaining air supplies inside the cave emerged as a key challenge on Friday as rescuers faced the prospect of the boys remaining underground throughout the monsoon season that ends in October.

The presence of hundreds of rescue workers inside the cave has been depleting the air supplies the boys have been relying on, Narongsak Osatanakorn, the governor of Chiang Rai province said at a briefing on Friday.

It was during a mission to place air tanks along the route to the boys, the current method for refreshing the air supply in the cave, that the former Seal, identified as Saman Kunan, died around 1am on Friday morning.

We have similar albeit better contoured caves at Shimoni slave caves, at the South Coast. If you've been there, you an imagine the prospect of spending days, months trapped. Sad

Impossible

It's a risk or die situation.
