I think there's a trend taking shape...

World Cup winners just capitulate as they "defend" their prestigious title - Brazil, Italy, France, Spain, Germany...

Despite having reached the equivalent of the quarter-final stage in each of the last 16 World Cups, Germany seem they'll exit way earlier than expected..

Waaah!!

Great free kick, Germans are good & will definitely go through!!!

The competition would be less exciting without the Germans in the knock out stages. Unlike Argentina they are actually a team.

Senegal made a good showing if you ask me, but they were pitted against a very gallant side - the Japanese.

Sadly all African teams will go out at group stage. Argentina will whip Nigeria tomorrow while Senegal might lose to Colombia.

His real name is Martin Tony Waikwa Olsson and i think there is another Swedish player with Kenyan connections (Sebastian Larsson???)

Martin Olsson and his twin brother Marcus Olssson.

If Argentina get past this stage they will be my favorites to win the world cup. There is nothing like near elimination in the group stages to fuel a winning comeback spirit. I would also just love to see Messi win a world cup. It would be a fitting cap to a fantastic career.
