Formed 40 years ago by Omar Shabani,Tom Malanga, Rashid Juma, Phoney Mkwanyule, Stanely Mtambo and joined later by John Ngereza , Issa Juma, Joseph Just, Mohammed Tika Abdallah, Sijali Zuwa and Victor Boniface


Produced great hits in the 80s and 90s but most have bowed out.. I think only Malanga,Joseph Just and Sijali zuwa are still up and kicking.

You have no idea how nice 'sina makosa' sounds when people who know no swahili sing it! especially a random live band in a random african country.

Most of them are dead and the remaining ones must be be at least 60 yrs.

I remember in 1989 when Franco died, I attempted to sell a portion of land I had inherited to travel for the funeral... Fortunately was dissuaded and raised the cash through other means and travelled for the funeral..
