Would you hire MM to manage your organization?

Neither would I

FELLOW KENYANS AND PATRIOTS
A Statement by Dr. Miguna Miguna, 31st May 2018
________________________________________________________________________________

Fellow Kenyans and Patriots,

We salute you in the name of our Ancestors and heroes of the struggle for the African liberation.

We bring you solidarity greetings from members of the National Revolutionary Movement of Kenya (NRMKe) in the Diaspora.

Let me thank Comrade Al-Amin Kimathi for agreeing to read this statement on my behalf. Comrade Kimathi is a fearless and veteran liberation fighter.

He is among a few committed revolutionaries who have endured horrendous suffering inside of the tyrants’ dungeons of death and still continue fearlessly to fight for social justice in Kenya.

I am addressing you today from Toronto, Canada, because the tyrants who stole the 2017 elections, then turned their guns on the people and murdered more than 400 innocent Kenyans, and maimed thousands of others, forced me into exile after destroying my house and ransacking it.

We must say a firm and loud NO to those intent on institutionalizing electoral fraud as Kenya’s default “democratic practice.”

I appeal for unity among comrades and patriots both here and abroad because it’s our unity, ideological clarity, numerical strength, discipline, commitment, courage and persistence where our strength and victory lie.

We may disagree on our interpretations of facts and how we express our individual opinions. However, we cannot disagree on immutable facts about our collective condition and the material circumstances that brought us here.

Similarly, it’s self-evident on who has wreaked havoc on our country. In other words, we know who our enemies are.

Our enemies are those occupying illegitimate public offices or who have usurped power and are using them to steal our resources – public land, minerals and tax shillings. They are using our resources they have stolen to enrich themselves and to further exploit and suppress us.

Our struggle for liberation is not an ethnic struggle. We are not seeking to replace members of one ethnic group with another. We are against all forms of ethnocentricity and sectarianism.

The enemies of the Kenyan people are not members of a particular ethnic group or members of two ethnic groups as some misguided media sometimes posit.

Our enemies are a tiny group of privileged elites who have amassed great wealth from public resources. They have not toiled and produced that wealth. It is these elites who have established the tyrannical system to preserve and protect their ill-acquired wealth, privileges and illegitimate power.

In other words, we, the overwhelming majority of Kenyans, belong to the class we have often referred to as “the oppressed.” Those we are fighting against belong to the class of the “rich oppressors.”

The weapons that we must use against them are our brains, moral purity, courage, numbers, creativity and determination.

We are stronger than the handful of heavily armed but poorly paid and badly treated police officers whom the tyrants often marshal against us. Most of those policemen and policewomen are actually on our side. It’s our duty to explain this situation to them so that they understand that the struggle for liberation is also their struggle.

We must eschew ethnocentricity or tribalism, parochialism and other primitive tendencies that will divide and weaken us.

Let us never allow looters, thieves and murderers to bribe us with our resources which they have stolen from our coffers.

Let us deconstruct their lies and propaganda against us using verifiable facts, data and logic. Be vigilant against the distortions of the so-called mainstream media, which the enemies of the people own and manipulate against us.

Revolutionaries are feared by despots because they are unimpeachable, disciplined, unbowed and fearless.

We affirm the legacies of great Pan-African revolutionaries like Thomas Sankara, Patrice Lumumba, Amilcar Cabral, Samora Machel, Chris Hani and Ruth First!

We call on Pan-African solidarity from Cape Town to Cairo; from Addis Ababa to Accra!

As Kenyans recently witnessed during the fraudulent 2017 election when all western ambassadors and so-called election observers openly and disgracefully supported the tyrants who had hijacked the IEBC server, KIEMs kits and systems, our liberation must be our project, not theirs.

Africans will and must throw off all the shackles and tentacles of neocolonialism and western capital.

Fellow citizens,

The tyrants are not just violating our human rights through barbaric arrests, abductions, detentions, torture and forceful exile. They have also dehumanized us through rapacious theft of trillions worth of our resources and continue to reduce us into beggars and slaves in our own country.

Our destiny is in our hands. We can either choose to allow those stealing our resources, bankrupting our country and burdening us and the future generations to continue institutionalizing impunity or we can stand up and say ENOUGH IS ENOUGH.

Our educational system, healthcare service, roads, housing and environment are in a dilapidated state. The situation is getting worse by the day.

The police are armed not to protect us. They are instructed to kill us daily as if for sport.

I urge all of us to put aside our fears of the unknown, of each other, and more specifically of the tyrants.

History teaches us that no army or police force can shoot one million unarmed civilians united against a tyrannical regime. They will not succeed.

They don’t have enough jails for one million people.

On September 28, 1989, one million Filipinos gathered in Manila and deposed their tyrannical kleptocrat Ferdinand Marcos.

On December 22, 1989, hundreds of thousands of Romanians gathered in Bucharest and removed their longstanding despot Nicolae Ceausescu.

In Burkina Faso, only 350,000 unarmed civilians were able to remove Dictator Blaise Compaoré from power on October 31, 2014.

And more recently in Zimbabwe, hundreds of thousands of angry citizens sent Robert Mugabe home on November 21, 2017.

The Popular People Power is the only effective treatment for tyrants all over the world.

In other words, Kenyans are human beings just like the Burkinabe, Filipinos, Romanians and Zimbabweans. We have the same human DNA, emotions, brains, needs and deprivations.

The tyrants feared our potential as the NRMKe. That’s why they conspired and abducted me barely three days after the heroic swearing-in ceremony at Uhuru Park on January 30th. They knew that it was just a matter of days or weeks before they fell.

Fellow Patriots,

Here I am, in forced exile, wishing that I was there with you, and KNOWING that I have every right – just like each and every one of you – because I am a Kenyan by birth and my birthright cannot be vitiated by anyone no matter how powerful they might believe they are.

I am here against my will, just like Fidel Castro was forced out of Cuba in 1955 and spent months in Mexico, as he prepared to return for the final confrontation with the brutal Batista regime.

But return he did, as I will, and must, with tyranny’s head at our feet.

At 5:30 a.m. on February 2nd, 2018, about 50 heavily armed but cowardly Flying Squad and Recce Squad officers in civilian clothing violently broke my gate and blew open my house with military detonators as I slept.

They violently ransacked my house and abducted me without a court warrant.

Although they alleged that I had committed treason by administering the oath of office of The People’s President on The Rt. Honourable Raila Odinga on January 30th, they have refused to take me to court.

On February 6, 2018, when they took me to the Kajiado Magistrate’s Court, the charge sheets correctly identified me as a Kenyan.

However, rather than have me stand trial for treason – a charge they knew they cannot sustain - the tyrants confiscated and destroyed my valid Kenyan passport before forcing me into an Amsterdam-bound flight on February 6th.

They knew that if they proceeded with the treason charges against me, then they would also have to arrest, charge and try Raila Odinga for treason because it is him whom I had sworn in as The People’s President.

In hindsight, it is now crystal clear that both Uhuru Kenyatta and Raila Odinga had already entered into a secret private deal, which betrayed the cause for electoral justice, social justice and justice for all the thousands of victims the police had murdered in cold blood and maimed.

The NRMKe, which I lead, was, and still is, viewed as the major threat to the elites and their mafia-like political and economic networks.

The beneficiaries of the unjust political, economic and social arrangement are united in their fear of the people of Kenya’s ferocity and determination to wipe out the culture of impunity and transform Kenya into a merit-based and just society, which is our end-game.

The tyrants forced me into exile in flagrant disobedience of 13 court orders that had directed them to release me from illegal incommunicado detention.

They forcefully removed me from Kenya without written notice, due process of law, and directly against court rulings that ordered them not to hold me in custody and/or remove me from Kenya.

On February 15, 2018, The Honourable Justice Luka Kimaru QUASHED Fred Okengo Matiang’i’s illegal declaration that I was not a citizen. Justice Kimaru also quashed the decision to confiscate my valid Kenyan passport and ordered them to return it by February 22, 2018.

The illegal ban they had imposed on Yoweri Kaguta Museveni’s National Resistance Movement (NRM) was also lifted. We wish to distinguish our movement – NRMKe – from Kaguta’s tyrannical entity in Uganda.

On March 26th, I attempted to enter Kenya through the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport, in compliance with The Honourable Justice Chacha Mwita’s Order dated February 26, 2018, which directed CS for Interior Matiang’i, Director General for Kenya Police Service Joseph Boinett, Immigration Director George Kihalangwa and Director of Criminal Investigations George Kinoti to issue me with a travel document/passport and facilitate my unconditional entry into Kenya as a Kenyan.

Instead of obeying Justice Chacha Mwita’s order, the tyrants insisted that I could only enter as a foreigner on a tourist visa. That’s was a trap.

They want to ensure that I am not able to lead the NRMKe. They know tourists cannot do that.

They want to designate me as a “foreigner” in order to prevent me from participating in the revolutionary process that has engulfed Kenya.

They are desperately trying to prevent me from contesting elections in 2022.

They also want to make my life impossible by preventing me from working and owning property in Kenya as well as curtailing my mobility.

In other words, the tyrants are fearful of our revolutionary movement!

But make no mistake about it: I am a Kenyan by birth.

My parents and all my ancestors were born in Kenya.

I not only vied for the Nairobi gubernatorial seat in the 2017 general election; I have voted in Kenya in 2002, 2007 and 2017.

From 2007 to 2011, I worked as one of Raila Odinga’s Chief Strategists. I served as the Senior Adviser to the Prime Minister of the Republic of Kenya and as a Joint Secretary to the Management of the Grand Coalition Affairs, together with Professor Kivutha Kibwana.

I could not have held those positions if I was not a Kenyan citizen.

I was cleared to run for elections by the IEBC, EACC, HELB, Kenya Police Service, Commission for University Education and other public bodies.

I have never renounced my Kenyan citizenship. Those claiming that I did have not produced any evidence in court, which is the only arbiter of legal disputes.

It’s imperative to note that I was not abducted from my house in Nairobi because of immigration allegations. But even alleged immigration crimes, which I have not been charged with, are supposed to be adjudicated by courts of law. Let them take me to court!

I did not travel out of Kenya on both February 6th and March 28th. On both occasions, I was violently, forcefully and illegally removed. On March 28, 2018, I was removed while unconscious after Uhuru Kenyatta’s goons had forcefully sedated me.

In conclusion, I wish to remind you that just like our forefathers and mothers fought gallantly against the British colonialists, so we must fight against the Jubilee tyrants and all their collaborators.

We must do so by marching, protesting and demonstrating peacefully in huge numbers until we force them out of power.

The Popular People Power is a simple and effective strategy and weapon the tyrants cannot defeat.

How much of a following does this guy have? Do people see him as a potential leader or were they simply excited by the "Resist" idea?
