I saw on TV Ruto talking about curbing corruption and calling for the arrest of all those implicated in the NYS scandal. My question is, does this Ruto guy really have a conscience? I literally almost threw up.

This guy has a big hotel sitting on grabbed public land and yet he has the audacity to lecture people on the ills of corruption? Really?

I have never seen a bigger hypocrite in my life. On Sunday he will be in church seated on the front pew shutting his eyes deep in prayer and acting all godly and then go to the office on Monday morning to scheme and plot how to steal more from Kenyans and how to eliminate his political opponents. How godly. Unbelievable.

Why can't Uhuru just put his foot down and tell these people that they can't do that shit under his presidency? Is it because Ruto helped him win the presidency and Waiguru is a long time friend? Maybe it's just me, but if I were president and my friends thought they could take advantage of my presidency to steal from hard working citizens, they would be in for a shock. I really can't stand people who have no integrity. We can be friends but don't bring your low life crap into our friendship. That shit is not going to fly with me.

People are demonizing that Girita family because they are a bunch of nobodys, why didn't they follow Waiguru and Ruto with the same vigor when they were accused of stealing public property? I am not defending these NYS suspects but if we are to start genuinely prosecuting folks then let's not act like we don't know who the biggest thieves in Kenya are. Let's audit Waiguru first and then reposses the land that Weston Hotel sits on. We can also revist criminal incidences of sijui akina Wetangula's Tokyo embassy saga and other past cases like that while we are at it. Let's start there. Why is Kabura not in prison even after confessing to collecting money in sacks? Let's put all these people in prison first before we can start applauding this small NYS arrests feat that won't go anywhere anyway.

Sometimes we demonize based on hearsay. Who has the evidence this guy stole? Mbona hajapeleka kotini?

If I say @AA is a thieve because she is driving a V8, does that make @AA a thief?

What of he just worked hard for his $$?

If the hotel is on grabbed land, where is proof that he is the one who grabbed ama it's because Nyakundi twitted so? Maybe he bought innocently a grabbed land?

He's not my no. 1 fan, but maybe he is better that me, who knows; only ths gods know.

And kuddos to him for owning up his deeds (kids)Applause Applause , a man is to err.....my Granddad had 6 wives na sijaskia akiambiwa hatawai ona mbinguni. (Even King David (so called 'man of God') alikuwa ananyakua za marafiki.....

Haiyaa!!!!! You guys have started already. There are things that stink too much no cologne in the world can mask the stench.

Directly opposite Serena hotel is a road Kibaki built that joins procession way to state house road. Your role model had to surrender the title deed to that road to avoid being charged. As in he had grabbed a road reserve and secured a title.

Need I mention about the KPC 270M fraud. Your saved uncle once went to KPC and offered to sell them land in Ngong . They wired 270M to him and that was the last they had of him. Just so you know the land he was to sell them belonged to govt. Not a big deal. He could have grabbed it and transferred the title to KPC but didn't bother. Impunity is a nice thing.

Now, with all this information (assuming you are talking from evidence not hearsay), how come you as an individual has not done anything about it in the courts?

Ama we are substituting courts with ballots?

If this was true, why then did no private invidual not provide this evidence to block him from running for public office?

Shady people are usually the ones who start quoting the bible to try and justify their character flaws. What do you mean by man is to err? What kind of error is this that had a married man sleep with a woman who is not his wife multiple times until he got her pregnant? How many times did he err? Is that really an error?

Listen, people like you who make excuses to try and justify things that are obviously wrong is what's wrong with society. I can understand when a soccer player errs and scores an own goal or when a driver errs and causes and accident, but what kind of error is this that is done repeatedly?

Sometimes I don't understand people who claim to be religious and yet they are the most scandalous people on earth. If you are married, stick to your wife or leave her if you are not done "erring". And you actually have the audacity to try to defend what was obviously wrong by quoting the bible for support? Some things are just unbelievable.

As for the other hogwash that you've written up there about sijui innocently buying grabbed land, I won't honor that with a reply.

Ruto has no choice but to speak that way if he wants to have a chance at 2022. He's not being a hypocrite, he has no choice but he's increasing baba's chances for 2022. We all know who the tzars of corruption in Kenya are... Let's see who will survive the people's wrath in 2022 as I doubt we can get the 'big fish' to court.

BBI will solve it

Plus children he has out of wedlock, adultery. They are accepted coz he takes care of them, surely!!!

Really ???? There was the 100 acres of land belonging to an IDP who had to run after the pev in 2007. An under-age girl, 13 to be precise, bought the land and transferred to your saved uncle.

I have prevented myself from posting on this thread, but after reading what @Thitifini wrote, I feel so sick in my heart. I can't believe someone in Kenya can have the audacity to post such! No wonder we are in this kind of mess!

Kenya has 2 courts
1) the court of public opinion... which is a real court... it dispenses justice on hearsay and this is fine!
2) the court of law... which is a real court... it dispenses justice based on evidence.

So if you are a private citizen - you just need to appeal to the second court... if you are a public officer/state officer you have to win in the first first smile before the second!

Two multi-million malls under construction in Nairobi, reportedly belonging to a senior official, are among assets the State has targeted in the crackdown on National Youth Service (NYS) scandal.

The State has also identified several properties owned by individuals widely mentioned in the scam for recovery as Government freezes suspects' bank accounts.

The suspects’ houses, plots, cars and other personal property have been flagged and earmarked for recovery. Among those set to lose is a senior NYS official, who is said to be constructing two multi-million malls on Kangundo Road, in Nairobi. A businessman whose wife was recently blocked from travelling out of the country will also get a rude shock after his fleet of more than 20 cars was flagged.

The man and his wife are among those who were detained yesterday and are set to appear in court this morning to face charges of theft and fraud. The merchant has 20 saloon cars and four luxury four-wheel drive cars. The Assets and Recovery Agency, which was part of the multi-agency team pursuing the case, had been profiling the property before they moved to courts to get freezing orders.

Some of the suspects are said to have mysteriously withdrawn millions of shillings from their accounts in unexplained moves. The audit started in 2014 to this year when the individuals are said to have gained from NYS. “Even though he claims he bought these cars long before venturing to NYS, his wealth is suspect. They have been frozen,” said an insider. “The move affects a family at large. If a husband has been flagged, his wife is also affected.” Yesterday, Director of Public Prosecutions (DPP) Noordin Haji confirmed the move, saying it had been done in addition to the prosecutions. “In addition to prosecution, we are looking at recovering the proceeds of crimes as well as establishing the tax status of the companies and individuals in the crimes,” Mr Haji said. “In the meantime, several bank accounts that the funds were channeled through have been frozen. My office is working with DCI and the Assets Recovery Agency in that regard,” he added.
