Now that we are to export oil beginning June, Kenyans have now discovered a new avenue to eat.
The Ethics and Anti-Corruption Commission (EACC) descended on finance manager Samuel Odoyo’s residence in Syokimau, recovering documents linked to the purchase of 60 hydrant pit valves (HPVs).
The investigators also raided a home of former KPC managing director Charles Tanui and the property of all former executives at the state agency and businessmen linked to the Sh550 million deal.
The EACC is probing claims that the contract was inflated and possibility of collusion between the KPC and the briefcase firm offered the multi-million shilling tender inked in 2015 and whose tendering started in 2014. I personally do not think that the new DPP will make any difference. He can only make the difference that he is is 'allowed' to make. For him to make a difference he would need to strike at the big shots
For me what will make a big difference atleast as a catalyst for change is the day Kenyans will elect a president with the moral authority and courage to fight corruption
For me the buck stops with the voters

EACC chief Executive Officer Halakhe Waqo has reported evidence that Kenya Pipeline Company defrauded the public in the purchase of aircraft fueling equipment.
Waqo on Tuesday gave a report to the National Assembly Departmental Committee on Energy, amid investigations into KPC's procurement of Hydrant Pit Valves (HPVs), the equipment used for refuelling aircrafts.
The company resolved on December 9 2014 to acquire the hydrants directly from the manufacturer, Cla-Val Company.
It allegedly procured the equipment at Sh660 million yet their estimated value was Sh59 million. The payment was about 1,010 percent over market value.
The CEO said he will recommend criminal charges against culprits and the recovery of about Sh200 million. "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. The problem is you hope when you should fear & fear when you should hope: - Jesse Livermore

the Star wrote:Kenya Pipeline Company has recalled 14 trucks that were mistakenly loaded with water instead of petrol at its plant in Kisumu.
Depot manager Herman Munga said all the trucks loaded since Tuesday morning were recalled and have responded positively.
Munga said they have opened investigations to establish what went wrong.
"We have no reports of any truck that offloaded as they have all reported back," he told the Star on phone.
The manager said the matter was taken seriously to protect members of the public. He said other products were not affected.
Abiud Jafar, a driver, said he noticed the mistake following a leak from one of his truck's compartments.
He immediately notified the depot managers who recalled all the tankers that had been loaded.
Other drivers had traveled more than 50km before they were alerted to verify the contents of their trucks.
