So I came across the Opium wars - as an illustrator that what is 'good' is not really what succeeds and 'justice' is a figment of our imagination.
The british used to sell Opium grown in India to China... much to the addiction of the chinese populace, at one point over 27% of all males in china were addicted to Opium and walikuwa 'bure'. The Qing dynasty had had enough! it banned the sale of Opium and forcibly seized and destroyed Opium in the country. Guess what - the British sent ships and beat up the Qing dynasty and forced them to continue selling opium! Heck China had to pay for the destroyed drugs and the brits took Hong Kong from them and used it as a drug trading ground. So where is the 'justice'?

The Brits are among the first of Jurists to abandon the doctrine of natural law.

So, if you want to know where justice is we'll also need to start with the philosophy of law.

my point is that justice is a MYTH... something we all inter-subjectively accepted and enforce. there is not such thing as 'natural law' when it comes to human conduct. it's not like throwing a stone up and it comes down - whether we collectively agree for it to come down or not. it's not like newton's laws or physical laws. my point... JUSTICE WITHOUT A PHYSICAL ENFORCER IS NO GOOD!

This is the fallacy of our times. And this is the contention of this thread.

There's such a thing as natural law in human affairs and it has effect just as the laws of physics, and it is to this law that we can find the objectivity of Justice.
