People tend to underrate Oparanya, perhaps because he is not as noisy or self promoting. But he is doing some very creative things

I would add Kakamega to that list

You can also include, as a general caveat, that any County where the MCA's and the Governor are not working together will fail. Kibwana's first term was a salutary lesson, as was Nyeri and Kiambu.

Unless someone clearly disputes this, Sonko needs to run the county on a remote control.

Even Onejigi has a dossier on this guy.

Sonko blames it all on Kidero' regime. They stole 3b on their exit. Files now with DCI.

BBI will solve it

It's really not his initiatives but he gets the credit anyway. Lots of things/projects that Kidero was not able to push through coming online but the bigger push coming from national govt. Eastlands was really neglected looking like scenes from mad-max but there is now light at the end of the tunnel

1. KURA redoing the eastlands roads this time no local bush contractors. Before priority used to be in uptown. Nairobi county has done some good roads in eastlands.

2. Eastlands-the planning of the eastlands mini-city for mixed use mixed income development has begun. A lot of more of highrise apartments so more economic density in those areas

3. Railway city-all sudden there is a flurry of activity on this one. Will have an iconic central station, green mall, flyover from CBD to Industrial area, relocation of wakulima market.

4. The delivery of 14500 units in the Ngara area, Ngong road through joint venture is about to hit the ground. This was a flagship for kidero but flopped in implementation.

5. Sorting out the 50k title deeds for Umoja, Kariobangi, Dandora

6. Water-nothern collector project should be done next year so good prospects

Sonko still needs to be pushed to remove upcountry matatus and buses from CBD, garbage collection, creating more pedestrian areas and redoing the sidewalks.

Sonko has declared that all public toilets will be free. Good move. Peeing or $hitting is a basic human right and one must never be forced to pay to attend to a call of nature.

He has also declared that every 1st Saturday of the month is clean up day in Nairobi.

Just hope that chokoras won't move into the toilets and make them their home.
