The thought that ours may be a less sophisticated civilization than previous ones may not be so trivial.

By being more alienated to human nature - considering how etiology, for example is limited - we've lost something that the ancients held dear and something very decisive in the determination of quality of life.

Oh please... quality of life? Oh ye of a flushing toilet! While granted the early agrarian folks may have been worse off individually compared to the foragers - all those early folk can't hold a candle to us.

Apart from just stating a pet belief, or pet beliefs, let's give evidence head to head.
