Very often I find that those who have been found to be guilty of corruption in gov simply get fired, at worse, get fired and have the assets recovered.

E.g. http://www.the-star.co.k...purchase-lusaka-cleared

OR

http://www.the-star.co.k...n-trafficking-smuggling

Or http://www.capitalfm.co....hment-of-governor-iria/

Is that really how things should be? Coz corruption is an act of theft, if an ordinary person is convicted of theft, what do they get? Jail time.

Why not for those in gov?

When people know that they will get away easy if caught, that will not help deter attempts.

See what they doing in China. http://www.bbc.com/news/world-asia-china-34503469

Ke gov needs to up its game in persecuting corruption, as well as in preventing.

So, is the penalty for corruption, aka theft in Ke, getting fired, if one is in Gov?

I dont understand why people don't just go to court. Any public official caught to have embezzled funds belongs to the court house not some committee headed by some bloated men. These senate/parliament committee meetings should exist with no extra pay

I also wonder. Does this mean that citizens should now have to crowd source funds for lawyers to take those cases to court? Will donate straight up, this corruption thing is really working me. The cash stolen at NYS can sort out the bring Zack back campaign three times over or have gov build its own facilities, supposed have its own. Someone or some people need to start a website that scouts for cases that have been concluded, which proven thieves have just been fired, crowd funded by the public. Thieves need to go to jail, no place in society for them, they betrayed public trust.

Proposed law to be tabled in parliament punishing bribery with kshs 5 million and 10 year jail term.

ION, EACC to be disbanded if a new bill is passed in parliament

The law could escalate corruption rather than reduce it. Especially when powers to investigate, arrest, and prosecute are exclusive to a few and defense costs are high.

I doubt if corruption has been given serious thought in Kenya, and probably very few have the capacity to think of corruption effectively by virtue of being corrupted themselves.

if known corrupt individuals could 'disappear' mysteriously one after the other, I am telling you in a month or so the vice would be history.

Benjamin Rotich further told a court in Nairobi that he was personally involved in the disputed allocation by virtue of being the DC and chairman of Moiben land control board.

The 477 acres of land in question is in Uasin Gishu county and belongs to Anne Kimetei.

Rotich is charged alongside former Kenya Pipeline Company MD Ezekiel Komen, lands officials Tom Chepkwesi and Erick Tarus, and businessman Benjamin Kuto.

He said his wife Magdelene Rotich and house girl, only identified as Selina, were allocated three plots each measuring five acres.

Mukora Maraga and his staff are slowly redeeming themselves. Heko Justice John Onyiego. What you have done is patriotism. May your other colleagues in the Judiciary learn from you.
However, you forgot to send Njogu to Kodiaga maximum prison for 10 years, kazi ngumu and 10 strokes of the cane.
