Local airline Silverstone Air Services has increased frequencies on two of its routes, stepping up competition with established carriers such as Fly 540, Kenya Airways and Jambojet.

The low cost carrier now flies 17 times per week from Nairobi to Kisumu, up from 14, while passengers travelling to Mombasa from Kisumu will now be served by three weekly flights, an increase from two.

“We have increased our frequency to not only address the demand for our service across the various routes but also offer flight variety and flexibility to our customers,” said the airline’s sales manager Patrick Oketch in an interview.

The carrier’s passenger flights target tourists from western and coastal regions, charging about Sh10,500 for a one way ticket between Mombasa and Kisumu.
The airline charges Sh4,500 on the Nairobi-Kisumu route.

We drive on Kenyan roads...
Has Silverstone had any incidents?
Has a Kenyan national carrier had any incidents?
Which airline fired its engineers recently.

Law of probability.. We wear seatbelts in cars not because an accident is about to happen, but due to the fact that it can happen.

Firing of engineers had nothing to do with safety of the national carrier aircraft

You call it peddling of scare tactics but KCAA was investigating misconduct a few days ago on one of the local carriers https://www.businessdail...22760-p8wpltz/index.html

Nonsense. Someone was pissed off coz s/he didn't get a pay-off.

KCAA director-general Gilbert Kibe told the Business Daily on Friday the regulator cleared the local airline after establishing that the alleged security breaches did not happen from its facility.

“I am stating that the security breach did not happen from Jetways facility or caused by them. They had all requirements for issuance of a regulated agent certificate including the Kenya Revenue Authority (KRA) customs which are on site and the latest state-of-the-art security screening devices,” he said.

“We returned their certificate to them on February 26 after investigations.”

KQ operates from terminal 1A.. Further, security at the airport is under KAA and not KQ. Anyway your KQ hatred stems from old wounds of capital erosion so I understand

Back to the point. Do not digress. According to KCAA, it was the airport facility of KQ that was infiltrated not any other airline.

Does KQ offer WiFi in its planes?
https://www.businessdail...5004-5q9uajz/index.html
- Emirates has Wi-Fi on all its routes, including Nairobi, said Hendrik Du Preez, the Kenya country manager.
- Last year in May, Lufthansa introduced Internet on its long haul flights including Kenya. The Internet access works simply via Wi-Fi using the passenger’s own mobile devices.
- Qatar Airways currently provides free Wi-Fi for the first 15 minutes of your flight, but further access must be purchased.
Though the WiFi isn't cheap so many pax may not use it. For biz class, it might be very important.
