How long does it take to grow to 6 feet? What are the tips and tricks of use of the plant?

Just planted recently. Thank God for the rains. They have "shikad" and are now starting the long process of growing. I like them because not only is a well trimmed Kei Apple fence more environmentally friendly, they also look better to me compared to drab concrete and stone walls.

Also planting grafted fruit trees hapa na pale inside the plot. I will be eating like crazy once the house is up. Mugunda life is so rewarding.

It takes around 3 to 4 years for the Kei Apple hedge to reach 6 feet.
For the best results, it’s recommended that you plant it in intertwined rows....

Thanks brother!

I have also seen some people plant bougainvillea within the Kei Apple fence. Is that recommendable? Or will it cause problems down the line? I hear it grows faster than Kei apple so you have to keep trimming so that it does hinder the slower growth of the Kei apple.

Also do mbuzis, kondoos and cows eat it (Kei Apple)? My plot is surrounded by hungry swarms of those animals owned by our Maasai brethren.

And can healthy new seedlings be grown from cuttings of an already existing hedge?

Thanks again.
