Buy expensive...the seller then "refunds" the principal shareholders directly...everyone is happy! Business opportunities are like buses, there's always another one coming

I have long given up what your posts & conspiracies mean. What does an insurance broker bring to I&M Bank that the I&M Ins Agency didn't have? IMIA could easily hire brokers who are a dime a dozen. IMIA could enter in "agency" agreements with lots of insurance firms. I could understand it if I&M bought an insurance firm to become a financial supermarket since insurance firms have float that needs investing. They also need banking services and cross-selling [car loans, mortgages, etc] is easier. Equity has a huge bancassurance business without the need to buy an agency! I&M bought Burbridge Capital which has probably done ZERO deals since it was bought. I&M bought Giro Bank. It made little sense. For the same cash, it could have picked up a larger bank. That said, the interest rate cap law was a surprise for most banks. Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett

When I held KQ, I did question "Project Mawingu" and then when I realized the scope of the debt/disaster, I bailed out. I have questioned KenRe sacking Mwarania. I worry that the new CEO will be a puppet of Arap Grabbiosus. Look at KPLC. I did not support Unga's acquisition of Ennsvalley but it was manageable even though unwelcome. I am still in I&M coz these (except Giro) are "small" acquisitions that will not severely hurt the profitability BUT it also concerns me. Greedy when others are fearful. Do you mean a firm that has consistently made losses for 6 years? Needed a huge bailout from lenders? Can't pay a dividend for at least another 3 years? Can't compete well against its peer from Ethiopia? Greedy when others are fearful. Very fearful when others are greedy - to paraphrase Warren Buffett
