Its alwez good to bring sanity to a city like Nbi,...only fear is,with those fines, some City council askaris et all are seeing some big money coming their way..we all know how they work, dont we?

I would love to see some pedestrians getting fined...the way they cross roads as if there are no cars

I'm yet to understand the rationale of imposing huge fines for minor traffic offences. Colleague of mine had to part with 3K to a traffic police officer because he executed a right turn where there was a recently erected sign prohibiting the same. Cop told him that the fine was around 10K plus threatened some jail time, towing charges, etc.

If all minor offences provided for an on-the-spot fine of say 500 bob, most drivers would pay this and revenue collection would improve, cops would get better pay and corruption would decline. Or am I being simplistic?

It is good to see that the government is holding every road user to account. Anyway, the government has been mintimg millions from traffic offences, and have become addicted to it. Stay safe.

Wat about a fine to policemen who act as 'traffic lights' and end up causing more jam? ie mombasa road?

I also think spot fines need to come into this thing. Would go towards killing corruption.

Can we also impose fines on the City council for not mounting traffic lights at places they should have.

That fine on Pedestrians talking on their phones while crossing the road should be 5,000. They not only endanger their lives, but those of the driver and fellow pedestrians as well. Not to mention showing off their stupidity in public.NKT

If there is one thing that absolutely pisses me off is pedestrians crossing the road in such a leisurely pace as if they're daring the driver to knock them down. riswa.
