I will take a contrarian view. Centum is a "Tier 2" holding for me but an important one.

1) DJ remains very important as a rainmaker for Centum BUT Mworia is no slouch. With a huge AUM, folks take his call. He has been instrumental in Centum's growth in NAV over the past few years.
2) Not all deals will be profitable. Some may fail spectacularly BUT as long as the overall portfolio does well...
3) Mworia has skin in the game. I like that.
4) Vipingo will be a huge cashcow for years to come. It might not produce cash until after 2023 [elections are an issue]

I am not a trader so I can wait a few years to enjoy the fruits...

Centum gains Sh1bn from Platinum sale

Cash that can be deployed to reduce debt and shore up Sidian. If interest rate caps are lifted then Sidian could become profitable as it targets the SMEs and personal loans.

“The proceeds of the (Platinum Credit) sale will enable us to deploy capital in other investment opportunities in our pipeline across our various focus areas,” Mr Mworia said on Monday.

More good news for Centum Applause Applause Applause

Sh22 billion Lamu coal power plant line takes shape
https://www.businessdail...48832-8cfbyw/index.html

"The line is expected to evacuate 960 megawatts (MW) of electricity from the proposed 1,050MW coal-fired plant from Lamu to Nairobi through Kitui."
"The 520-kilometre, 400-kilovolt (kV) line will cost an estimated $220 million (Sh22.28 billion) and take 36 months to complete"

Now that GoK has committed to building the transmission line, Centum can find partners (likely to be Chinese) to fund and build the Lamu Coal Power Plant.

In the future, can the LCPP be hooked up by KETRACO to tranmit electricity to Vipingo?

The harvest(s) of Centum will take some time but they will be bountiful.

GOK hasn't committed to building the line.
KETRACO is looking for relevancy just like when they announced they want to electrify SGR,a proposal which was shot down by the ministry of transport and Kenya Railways

Where there is smoke there is fire. I do not expect much, as in actual cash investment, will happen until 2020. Centum doesn't have $2bn so it needs to find financial (& operating) partners after which there's a potential for value uplift.

I look on the contrary that it must have been a nasty year for centum.
They are disposing off weeks to end of financial year.
