Ok, follow this link:

http://www.filebay.org/7...rld-cup-guide-2010.html

Get the rights and sell it across Kenya/EA.

The rights are 4,000 pounds (about 550k).

Printing, assuming Ksh 10 per page, would be Ksh 1320 per copy.

If you assume your net is 80 bob per copy, (say selling price locally is Ksh 1,500) with 10,000 copies sold you earn 800,000, which is about the amount you need to start with.

If you get a supply deal with Nakumatt or Uchumi, selling 10,000 is not a stretch. With world cup mania, who knows how many could sell? perhaps 100,000?

You could go the other way, i.e. illegally print and distribute, but the potential for profit is way more the legal way.

Anybody interested with the money? Time is of the essence.

@ Dead Poet

At 1,500/- a pop, 10,000 copies sold is a little....er...enthusiastic. Then again, laying out 15m for a dicey idea would give the most daring investor the chillies!

Your biggest cost would be advertising hype - make the book a must-have and most miroz will swallow it hook, line and sinker. Problem is advertising and marketing before and during the world cup will cost you a pretty penny.

This issue of purchasing the rights....THIS IS KENYA, BRUH! Who give two hoots about rights?

If y'ask me I'd by meself a copy, break down the info into manageable chunks and either distribute it online or via mo'phone - considering my gutter press back ground, I'd go for making money using the info i.e. advertising/merchandising other stuff while using the free info as my sales "knock out punch".

Then again, considering I'm not a soccer fan, I'm probably the last guy you should be taking advise from ...smile

@ Smano,
I'd say current situation, y'know the usual MSE shizzy, scratching from invoice to invoice, hanging in there, dodging creditors, striving to join that coveted group of the chosen few who ACTUALLY tasted 4% economic growth.... Drool
