The timer has come for the world's most watched event, the FiFa World Cup depending on where you sit, surely you can't ignore the hype and anticipation, my case St Georges Flag everywhere!! Office, cars, homes etc.
Now here are some of the moments/tit bits to go down in history as memorable ones. Lets all chip in.
Jean Manga-Onguene - Cameroon's greatest footballer never to have graced the world stage. In 1982 after Cameroon qualified for their first world cup, they were training in Germany and Jean received a ferocious tackle from behind and tore a ligament and subsequently went home.A young replacement with no experience was called from home and that replacement was Roger Miller.
Saeed Al-Owairan - In the 1994 world cup Minnows Saudi Arabia qualified for the first time and as expectd nothing was expected of them, in their first game against Belgium. Saeed got the ball deep in their half and run all the way past four Belgium defenders to score arguably the best world cup goal to date, earning the nickname the maradona of the arabs..He became a national icon partied so hard when he went back home and was jailed as a result of that.
Alcides Ghiggia - In the 1950 world cup, Uruagauy silenced the 200,000 Maracana crowd with two wonder strikes from Ghiggia to win the final of the world cup in Rio, and he famously commented that
"Only three people in history have managed to silence the Maracana
with a single gesture: the Pope, Frank Sinatra and I"

The greatest danger in times of turbulence is not the turbulence; it is to act with yesterday's logic.
