and who knows when his reapplication for dual citizenship will be approved?

So he was not a Kenyan citizen when he contested Governorship in the last general elections in Kenya 8/8?

Don't remind them... the next time you will hear -

Knowing very well he is not a Kenyan citizen, he fraudulently acquired a kenyan ID and run for office

by the way - this drama reminds me of the stories of Leonard Mucheru the Kenyan born athlete who changed his citizenship to Bahrain and dared to go run in Israel. Things were not simple-O.

We are living in strange times.

You make a hero out of a no one. The gov't can't revoke it's citizenship. That's a fact. It's also a fact that there are 4 years 5 months to the next election.

This guy was also exiled by Moi and he came back. As FRM2011 has said, the next governor of Nairobi is Miguna.

Sad.

Where is Kibaki?

So to be elected Governor in Nairobi all one needs is to be deconstruct everyone, administer a nonsensical oath then get arrested and deported to some country you acquired citizenship.

@Alma,you are brighter than that.

Actually it's easier than that. Make a mountain out of a mole hill.

The gov't can't revoke anyone's citizenship. That's like Raila saying Uhuru is not president of Kenya.

That being the case, you just make a hero. Just like the whiteman made a hero out of Jomo for no particular reason.

Politicians make their names through notereity. That's why we have Moses Kuria, Joho, even Pauline Njoroge.

The easier methodology to deal with nasa would have been to keep quiet like general kiguoya. I can see why that man was wiser than 10 men.

Like they say, time is a very interesting thing.

As individuals, I think there are small things we take for granted. Small legal procedures. Or misdemeanours we engage in.

The law(executive) turns a blind eye until you're on the opposing side politically. They then come down hard on you.

Following, but I'm seeing Miguna coming back, bigger. Is it a JP strategy to minimise baba's influence?

He was a distant 4th bwana... he lost to Sonko by over 800k votes- how is that an 'almost'?

My understanding of the matter
1) Gava has not 'revoked' his citizenship - he revoked it himself during the last constitutional dispensation
2) Citizens of Kenya during this current constitutional dispensation cannot lose citizenship
3) one who had lost/revoked kenyan citizenship during the old constitutional dispensation and was born in Kenya was meant to show his/her interest in the Kenyan citizenship they advertently or inadvertently lost by applying for the kenyan citizenship
4) The fact that he (fraudulently) presented himself as a Kenyan during the last election - does not add value to his case - it adds an additional charge of Fraud/impersonation.

but surely.... this is a pyrrhic victory. Why is GOK expending it's energy on such nobodies? like really?

Baba PEELS BACK Miguna's mask.......waaaah!

https://www.nation.co.ke...html-j25kl8z/index.html

Quote:
Much of Miguna’s legal work in Canada had consisted of assisting immigrants, including immigrants from Kenya. In the course of this work, Miguna had been publicly arrested on November 4, 2002, and charged with sexual assault on one of his clients, a 19-year-old woman.

Miguna appeared in court for trial on July 14, 2003, when he was rearrested and charged with further counts of sexual assault on another immigration client.

Miguna Miguna has no brakes. He never knows when to stop. He is loud and large and pushy and intimidating. He is completely insensitive to other people’s reactions to him, and he appears unable to judge where situations require restraint and diplomacy.

Miguna only understands one language – the language of confrontation. He has no idea what it takes to keep a vulnerable political arrangement in place. He would prefer to destroy everything around him, as he has come close to doing so many times, on the excuse of “principle”.

This is not principle. Miguna thinks that shouting louder than everyone else and intimidating them shows “principle” in resolving issues. Unfortunately, that is not the case.

Miguna’s lack of political wisdom, which in his case is replaced by the equivalent of bludgeoning people over the heads with an axe, is the reason he became a dangerous loose cannon and a terrible liability.....

A father (father of the nation Ohuru) is within his right to disown, disinherit, kick out, and curse an errant son.

I kept wondering why uhunye has visited Moi so many times but only visited Kibaki once when Lucy died.

Moi is Uhuru's role model

Kanu should rule for 100 yrs

Deuteronomy 21:18-21 New International Version (NIV)

18 If someone has a stubborn and rebellious son who does not obey his father...... and will not listen....19 his father and mother shall take hold of him and bring him to the elders at the gate of his town. .....21 Then all the men of his town are to stone him to death. You must purge the evil from among you. All Israel will hear of it and be afraid.

The law "is very clear"
Quote:
14.
Citizenship by birth
(1)
A person is a citizen by birth if on the day of the person’s birth, whether or not the person is born in Kenya, either the mother or father of the person is a citizen.

(2)
Clause (1) applies equally to a person born before the effective date, whether or not the person was born in Kenya, if either the mother or father of the person is or was a citizen.

But then...
Quote:
14(5)
A person who is a Kenyan citizen by birth and who has ceased to be a Kenyan citizen because the person acquired citizenship of another country, is entitled on application to regain Kenyan citizenship.
