Yvonne lived her life to the fullest. She was the captain of her own destiny. Even
Chichi, her lovely daughter, does not have the right to question the mom's choices in life.
By the way this urge to pull others down so that we can feel better about ourselves is a pointer to an underlying psychological problem.
Seek help.
I just hope they put the poor kid on antivirals from day 1. Poor kid, an innocent victim of circumstances.
Wow !!!! I am tempted to ask how old you are bro. You are exposing a naivete about life that has left my mouth open.
First, you need to talk to a doctor friend. They will tell you that as a country we have done so well in managing Aids, we are now a victim of our own success. There is an entire generation of kids who were born positive but luck was on their side. They survived and they are now in college leading very healthy lives but still positive. Had they been born 5 years earlier, they couldn't have lived to see their 1st birthday.
This generation is so preoccupied with their image and therefore cannot disclose their status to their boyfriends and girlfriends. You should also know that this generation never experienced AIDS when it was a horror disease wiping out villages. Unlike us, they are only scared of pregnancies not AIDS. And this is the predicament facing our sons/daughters. There is a very high chance that they will meet and fall in love with a kid who is positive.
In short, AIDS is closer home now than you can imagine. Yet here you are holding a pity party for the Wamalwas.
Finally, cancer is ravaging us in a deadlier way than HIV. Actually AIDS has been relegated to 4th position. And there is no death that is more posh than the other. You can live a "clean" and "safe" life only for cancer to bring you down in the most painful way imaginable.
