There was chaos overnight. About 35 in hospital nursing knife injuries some serious.

It is trending on Twirra.

Don't know how to attach tweets.

It is said Muslim students want to convert the rest by force. Most Muslim commentators are saying it was about the school admin.

Pangani also said to suffer similar rumblings.

Muslims 350/1500 students.

This is sad but predictable.

The world is becoming self aware: I am black v white, Moslem v Xtian, Immigrant v native ad infinitum!

If their representative here is anything to go by, I'm not surprised the offspring turn out so. Why can't these people live harmoniously with others?

These are our kids brought up in a rotten society...
Not idiots. They need proper guidance and that only comes from what they observe from you, me and the world while growing up

What would it take to convince The Office of the Administrator to install a "Like" or a "Thumbs Up and Thumps Down" Series of buttons?

It is sad to see such happening in schools.

Some reports say there has been religious discrimination against the Muslim students since the new Principal arrived. And it seems the administration is to blame for not taking any actions on the complains from the students.

I hope this is resolved and harmonious co-existence restored.

Not justified, of course!

Update on Jamhuri High School fracas today:

A prefect found one Mohamed being disorderly in a DH queue and ordered him to go back. The guy slapped the prefect. matter was reported to deputy principal who brushed off the complain. the prefect organised a group of three boys who beat Mohamed up in the evening. an assault case was reported at Pangani police station and a P3 form issued. Mohamed wasn't satisfied and organised his own gang for revenge while the prefect had his own. the two gangs plus other supporters turned the school into a battlefield using crude weapons. 7 students sustained injuries and a bloody knife recovered.

This is what needs to happen for this country to move forward.

First, religion needs to be abolished completely and people taught to use logic instead of depending on a non existent old man in the sky.

Two, as far as politics is concerned, a general IQ test needs to be administered to all voters with the people who pass tge test being the only ones allowed to vote. If this were to happen, this country would make serious strides in the right direction.

Most people will disagree with my incendiary opinions but the few people who are honest with themselves will embrace my sentiments.

We now have high school kids taking religious wars to school, next they will be bombing shit up again and killings dozens of innocent people in the process at this rate, how unfortunate that we defend something as detrimental as religion.

This is incident seem to have been caused by indiscipline case and not religious...

So do not quickly run to your usual preaching: banning religion!

It was a student called Muhammed and his Muslim friends fighting a Christian prefect and his Christian friends. How is that not a religious fight?

Sometimes it's good to just call a spade a spade. The facts won't change however much you wish to distort the narrative. Instead of trying to deny the root cause, maybe it's better to admit the truth and try to find solutions from there. The fight was between Muslim kids and christian kids, how can we prevent this from happening again? That is what we need to be asking ourselves, not trying to look for fake excuses like indiscipline and sijui poor school administration. Let's learn to accept the truth as it is, that is the only way we can find solutions to our problems. Problem with Kenyans and most Africans is that they don't like hearing the truth.

@msa_liti somebody said once, "all this so vs so narratives is a product of LAZY, SIMPLISTIC, CLICHED journalism meant to allow instigators to avoid RESPONSIBILITY from the mess which they helped create"

I like what you mentioned: the root cause

You see, it seems the root cause is indiscipline students. And administration failing to take action against them... resulted into students fighting each taking sides i.e. religious affiliation. The religion is not the cause, but the end alignment... So we need to address the root cause to avoid the undesirable effect!

So Mohammed introduced a religious angle into this otherwise petty student dining hall matter? Why should 35 students suffer just because one Muslim student refused to follow the queue?

For the record, SUPKEM officials together with Sheikh Juma Amir and Ali Khalid set off to understand the problem.
