Now that Ohuru will be finishing his term and has shared power 50/50 as per the agreement, in 2022 when Ruto becomes president he must respect the agreement and give TNA nusu mkate of government. Thus Ruto owes TNA (and central) a political debt in 2022, in the form of 50% of his govt, which he should pay.
I agree. He must and he has to demonstrate and make it clear before the 2022 elections. First is by offering
Kindiki the VP position as a sign of goodwill.
Ati atia ???? Kindiki of all people ??? When I have interacted with our brothers from that side of Mt.Kenya, I got to understand something an outsider may miss.
The Meru look down upon and despise the Tharaka. Same thing happens with Embu/Mbeere. In both cases the two groups are the same people separated by fate. The Tharaka and Mbeere occupy some of the harshest and infertile lands in the whole of Mt.Kenya. As expected, they are less educated and dogged by clanism and belief in witchcraft.
In Embu, Lenny Kivuti stands out as the only Mbeere who commands some respect and support from Embu side. Thanks to his deep pockets. But faced with a choice between him and their own Wambora, they settled for the latter.
The Tharaka vote basket is <200K. And it would be easier to sell Kindiki to other sections of Mt.Kenya than to their next door brothers.
