Meeting in Statehse in the offing That would be a very useless ministry & would just waste public funds. Jubilee at its best. I think what he wanted to get is attention; otherwise he would have resigned with immediate effect. He will most definately be 'convinced'to stay on.I also want to agree with @ 2012 that he will be more suitable as cs

Even ouru has not earned Mashamba's trust and vice versa but they work or seem to work in harmony. I think Igathe is not used to working under somenone and finds it difficult to fit into a position with no decision making powers unlike what he was used to. He doesnt understand why an MCA has more decision making powers than him If Obiero did it, Who Am I?

But you can be sure there are dark forces now scheming how to raise funds for '22 and nrb county is a mine field. Such don't want any a Mr. Pamba in the vicinity. But evil shouldn't triumph good. Almost sure he'll be back, watch this space...

I think the answer to that would be your definition of a failure. In mine, I see nothing to suggest he has failed. Even you, if you are not getting along with your boss, you can take the option to leave or maybe another company has given you a better offer,I'll not think you are a loser but wise. But again, Kenyan politics are not for everyone. Not everybody stays when the kitchen gets hot or when it will just mess your reputation. I would not be surprised with anyone leaving Sonko, Babayao and Joho, would you? BBI will solve it :)

I would not be surprised with anyone leaving Sonko, Babayao and Joho, would you? Mr Igathe claims to be a "Manager", partnership in performance management is not possible to achieve in under 5 years and particularly, TRUST, which the fellow is yelling about, trust doesnt come easy and it must not come in your special flavor, this is outlined by Prof. Drucker himself in management, any MBA should know this, what is surprising many is that the fellow does not understand sonko, personally if i were igathe, i would have looked for a clever excuse to hide myself while things heat up, but the fellow likes his face soo much on t.v, and i think he wanted his face more on t.v and himself on the mic in occasions etc more than performance! i would have focused on building sonkos trust long term by creating a cheap master-plan to eradicate garbage and just surprise the county on one of the dull morning days with a spotless county, the way kina kidero went with mutungis to the roads but failed, with garbage, am sure a good low cost strategy with excellent logistics can work ama? He is a failure to me and a deserter, should be disciplined or ostracized from Jubilee party for 20 years! A New Kenya

Nairobi metropolitan encompasses the counties of Nairobi Kiambu Machakos and Kajiado. You think all those countiescan cease to exist? Like it or not Nairobi County is here to stay. With Sonko running it alone. The lacunae in law may not allow him to appoint an assistant formally "There are only two emotions in the market, hope & fear. With Sonko running it alone. The lacunae in law may not allow him to appoint an assistant formally Sonko cannot appoint his deputy. It's an elective post not appointment. Only Nairobians can elect the deputy, period. As for Nairobi Metropolitan, it cannot exist. That would be against the constitution in regards to devolution. No governor can agree plus the court would throw it out of the window asubuhi na mapema. We're stuck with Sonko solo for atleast 2 years, the time it would take to enact and pass that law. The best option that I'm sure the president and his people are working at, is to get Sonko to reject Igathe's resignation and give him what he wants before Jan 31st. BBI will solve it :)

The country does not need elected deputy governors. Residents should only vote for governor who then picks a deputy from among the country executives, a deputy he can hire and fire at will for smooth county operations. From past experiences in machakos and embu and now nairobi, deputy governors can be a pain in the a$$, as they try to fight/outshine/blackmail their bosses.
Also it is deeply offending for someone to work so hard to be elected governor, then you tell him to concentrate on politics and leave the running of the county to his deputy, eti coz he (the governor) is incompetent to run his county.
Igathes resignation is the best thing to happen to nairobi coz wanainchi chose sonko to run the county and now sonko is free to deliver what he promised without having to consult third parties.
