Anybody who can share performance for Kahuhia Girls and Mugoiri.

Further would like to hear Wazuan thoughts on the day streams being introduced in National Scools.Have seen an ad from Lenana School on the same.

How will the day scholars be selected? Are they from the surrounding/local community around the school? How will the day scholars attend the 6am classes and evening preps till 9pm in those schools? What is lenana saying in the advert?

Sorry am not able to post it here.(My new year resolution is to learn how to post an image/pic in WAZUA)

The ad is inviting applicants who had 380 and above and live within the surround areas of Dago,Mutuini,Riruta ......Those are the key requirements.

How they will integrate with the others am waiting to hear.

I think this is a new avenue for corruption. You admit a student claiming to live in dago, but they actually live in karen or lavington, and then after a few days you talk to the principal and the boy becomes a border. I foresee alot of govt officials flocking lenana, kenya high, nairobi school etc claiming to be residing in the neighbourhood. Time for principals and brokers to mint millions.

Don't think so. Agakhan, Strathmore, Kianda. Amazing day schools with a history of academic excellence and high levels of discipline.

Also remember day schools are FREE. By the way the school doesn't care where you stay. If reporting time is 7 a.m, just make sure your kid is there.

At light academy, there is a hybrid boarding system. Kids board from Monday to Friday and they are home over the weekend. Its cheaper than full boarding.

Mugoiri produced the best student in the counry but was not among the top 5 schools in Muranga
Top 5 were
1. Muranga High School
2. Pioneer School
3. Njiiri School
4. Kahuhia Girls H School
5. Kiaguthu Boys H School

Thanks @Marex.

Are you able to get the results for both schools.(Kahuhia and Mugoiri)

Chicklet 1.0 has been admitted to one of the schools.I may have an opportunity to switch to the other.None of the schools appeared in Top 100 but I know they perform well.Hence my need to analyse both.

This was what brought down Nairobi School, days of Boon RIP. Students with less than half what others had. The advent of bullying

I think we should encourage day schooling and in the not too distant future, this will hopefully be the norm. I have been to places where boarding schools are rare and kids attend high school or community colleges within their school district. Boarding school is perhaps a British rule hangover. This will also encourage us to develop our local schools.

I concur.

In higher education, students who opt to putting up outside the campus, get a better picture of what real life is. As opposed to those sheltered in campus hostels. Illusion vs Reality. Imagine a 20something year old, post campus, who cant cook, doesn't even know where to get nor work basic cooking equipment. Simple hustles?

Yes, our education system needs revamping; but so does its boarding living arrangements. We have very many frustrated young men and women, wove lived a sheltered life.

When were you in Campus? During our time roughly half the population in the halls of residence cooked! It was hustling for vegetables at club 36, people bringing unga and omena from shags, and constantly overloading the circuitry. There is no merit to the statement that those who live off campus scrap more...may be things have changed these days

Why the obsession with KCSE results?. These kids never come back and help solve the problems our society is facing. We still have the same problems we had in 1963 and some of these problems are very easy to solve. However, it seems after getting those clean A's they become redudant afterwards. They cant keep time like every kenyan, they lack integrity like all of us. I stopped caring because the A(s) dont change our society for better

True...those A's are practically useless in the kenyan system. Speaking as an A student having worked in private and public sector I can say Kenyan society greatly rewards mediocrity. Give A+ ideas and solutions and you will be reshuffled and thrown to silly departments. You resign and end up doing consultancies then you realize that those nice reports will just gather dust. You will get ignored most of the time unless there is a crisis.

Kenyan women also don't like brains(just look at the number of E's if you don't believe it), try have a decent intelligent conversation with a kenyan woman and I promise you won't get a second date wacha getting laid. Brains are such a turnoff so the A doesn't even help in procreation so it's practically redundant. To get laid you must think and hold conversation at such low level it hurts.

If I could write to my younger self I would say don't work/study so hard go to parties, don't miss those camping trips and hikes, network with mediocre bozos-they become CEOs, they run govt. Mediocrity rules
