Good observation there. Patriotism from Google, usual mischief from the press.

Happy Jamhuri!

Uhuru's speech highlighted his big four.

1. Affordable housing
2. Affordable healthcare
3. Food security
4. Manufacturing

From 2017/2018 disciplined forces will procure all their textile and leather products locally. Applause Applause Applause Can't believe it took this long but a great move there.

Sadly, Uhuru again fell into the trap of making unrealistic promises.

500,000 houses ?? Will never happen.
Local processing of coffee and tea ? Will not happen either.

This is possible, unless of course you are talking about the Kileleshwa flats.

5 posts on Jamhuri day.
No one in my shags even knows it's Jamhuri day

Mmmhhh, Kenyans are tired with political speeches. Even malayas are worried about their next fool.

Just saying.

Tigukene.

The work of removing Raira is done, now people want money. Quote me tafadhali.

If low cost mass produced houses could cost about 800k per unit, then Govt would need to pump 80B per year for 5 years.

This is very very possible. Even without increase in revenue.

He should add all school uniforms to that list.
We will then need a lot of cotton to be produced locally. If they could convert Galana Kulalu to be used for large scale GMO cotton farming rather than maize production, that would be great
