The exchange bar confirms KQ Lenders Co Ltd have rejected minority shareholders Open Offer at KES 1.8 with 5:1 ratio suggesting that the number of issued shares proposed being 813,160,565 shall weigh down quick price appreciation and have counterproposed KES 3.1 at 3:1 implying 487,896,339. Luckily Michael Joseph, Sebastian, GoK as well as KLM are batting on the minority shareholders team

And we expect rapid rise in share price? Laughing out loudly

1. Irrational exuberance on part of shareholders.

2. Ukiritimba.. Whatever that means..on part of KQ.

Nevertheless, carry on. KQ will be good for those who come in later to collect the pieces..but not existing shareholders.

Strictly talking shares trading..
Lessons from safaricom upon listing.. Volume of shares available for trading slumped share price for a long while despite good fundamentals.

Large volumes of KQ shares available as of 29th will have to be wiped out by larger buyers to ensure demand always outweighs supply for the share price to go up.

Unless all existing shareholders REFUSE to sell..rise in share price ni uchawi.

There should be a refusal to sell for any price below KES 21.50 per share, unless the Open Offer details are rolled out before 29.11.2017

Open offer/rights issue for KQ probably next year.
ksh.21.50 per share on 29.11.2017 ni ndoto hiyo.
Are we saying that KQ will be worth more than KCB in terms of market capitalisation in the NSE.
5.822bn shares *ksh.21.5=
The company is just from announcing HY loss of ksh.3.8bn after tax.
29.11.2017 my prediction is KQ will be trading at between 1.50-2.00 per share

That's where you go wrong, quick math will show you that the banks converted debt to equity at a given sum total based on KES 2.13 per share which was then split at a ratio of 1:4 giving rise to the new floor of KES 8.52.. It's practically impossible for any sane existing investor to trade at any sum below KES 8.52.. Am I deluded or extremely wise..

Meanwhile KQ now has the most vibrant board at the NSE http://www.businessdaily...966-14hskl1z/index.html

I previously mentioned Oduor Otieno in this forum. He has a track record that can be vouched. Carol Musyoka is also an intelligent lady.

@proverb still thinks it is uchawi or ukiritimba?? 5 days of maximum gains and counting.. Let's spare a moment to think of the trader who bought at KES 2.10 just five days ago now up 614%

It was bound to happen.. Good thing is that the EGM resolution was binding upon the board to decide in the best interest of the minority shareholders.. What KQ Lenders Co Ltd are doing is lobbying

@Obiero please explain to me like to a little child why KQ is splitting shares, issuing worthless deferred shares.

The deffered shares were necessary to get a low entry price of KES 2.13 which would be lower than prevailing market price. Thereafter a consolidation would hike the price past market value.. Meanwhile I can guarantee that most of the trades happening now on KQ are fictional. There's no logical reason for anyone who has been holding onto KQ to sell now and worse still to buy now while the Open Offer will give a massive discount

Not really ie banks (KQ Lenders Co) owns billions of shares while the buyers are limited. Plus is KQ Lenders Co locked in? @obiero says no and then KLC should sell whatever they can! Half a loaf > None!
KQLC has to lend more cash to KQ at preferential rates (2% I was told)... That’s an implicit haircut. The smart bank(er)s stayed away from lending to KQ.

All top 3 tier one banks are inside KQ Lenders Co Ltd.. KQ had 13 banks which were all willing to lend to the airline, while only KCB priced in the risk.. Meanwhile, there is no lock in period prior to sale of shares but the bankers know early disposal will sink the price.. Only minority shares are currently trading, the volumes show this

Though kes 18 is a pipedream.

Let's talk about this same post on 08.12.2017

From where I stand, the pipedream is gaining momentum

@spikes the so called pipedream of KES 18 is two trading sessions away. Today KES 15 has printed firmly

Tomorrow market opens with KES 16.4 as KQ flies head first towards the so called pipedream of KES 18 as alleged by the clown @spikes.. Trading in shares requires deep understanding of trends

18 for 4 (old) Shares = 4.50
Wasn’t this the price BEFORE the restructuring?

What’s the “new” NAV/Share?
When will KQ publish the next set of results?
What does the Mandatory Debt Conversion (KQLC) entail?

I do wish KQ success since it will benefit GoK (Taxpayers), banks I have invested in and it’s good for Kenya. I hope KQ isn’t handed over to rogues like Titus and Alex after MJ & SM are done reviving it. Now when I look back, it was a grave mistake to replace Brian Presbury & his team with Naikuni & his crooked cronies.

You keep factoring out the Open Offer my friend hence your computation will always fall short of making sense of the current price
NAV is currently about 2.. 152B-141B/5.2B
End year for the firm is now Dec 2017
Mandatory debt conversion in which aspect?

It was 2,100 shares bought at KES 4,410 now worth KES 34,650.. Its obvious that the person can offload this holding at an abnormal profit. A very lucky fellow

This bugger @ obiero is shouting from rooftops just a big spectator while other traders are making a killing. The bugger's holding is still under water waiting for a meagre rescue from Open Offer.
