Btw who was no.1 during the CEO interviews? Before Ngunze got the job? I doubt if he will be reinstated. KQ will appeal against the ruling. There is enough evidence in the foresnsic audit that points to professional negligence on his part as the Finance Director. Under his tenure, there was total breakdown of controls which led to massive loss of funds. For instance, how did the former treasury supervisor looted through sales repatriation process without the knowledge of the Finance Director? Bank statements were forged. Why was a simple control such as bank reconciliation not carried out to detect such fraudulent activities in a Company like KQ. Majority of the Finance staff were aware of what was going on, how then was Mr. Mbugua as the Head claims innocence?

Instead of claiming damages for wrongful dismissal, his prayers were to be reinstated, but now that he is back will he have any credibility in the office. I believe he will get lighter duties and fade away.. KQ ABP 4.26

If you say it has only one month left without a deal BUT there are godfathers to be sated and GOK will make up the shortfall. KQ should be revived through a "bankruptcy restructuring" like they did in the US with United and Delta... KQ will emerge much healthier. Greedy when others are fearful. Former Kenya Airways finance director Alex Mbugua is set to get a hefty payoff of at least Sh144 million from the national carrier after a court ordered his reinstatement following unlawful termination in January last year. “The claimant (Mr Mbugua) is hereby reinstated... to his position without loss of benefits and any lawful entitlement to be paid within 30 days,” ordered Lady Justice Mbaru. “In the alternative, the respondent shall pay the claimant salaries due for three years. Compensation amounting to 12 months’ salary at the last gross salary due on January 19, 2016.” Mr Mbugua’s last salary was about Sh3 million per month, indicating that the national carrier may have to pay him at least Sh144 million to part ways with him as ordered by the court.
