You are saying there were no clashes what about the burnt structures? People were raped and there were killings.

Boss we can argue politics but its reckless to play with a matchbox after pouring petrol in your house.

In 2009 I was running a kerosene pump business in 56 area. I have relatives and friends there.
The claim that mungiki were circumcising people in kawangware is a lie. And a very reckless one at that. Someone will pick it here and share on facebook. And before long someone will call Mulembe or Ramogi fm with the same lie. And we all know who will be on the receiving end.

May be you don't care, but I care about the kiuks in kawangware. In 2007, I had to undertake a rescue mission of an elderly aunt in Kuresoi. The images have never left my mind. As far back as 2013, I stated on this forum I can never support any party with WSR in it.

Now for the umpteenth time let me paint a picture of kawangware from 26th.

26th Oct - Voting takes place but with very low turnout. Majority boycott.
26th Evening - Gangs vandalize mostly makeshift vibandas around 46/56 area.
27th Morning - Rumours start that jubilee supporters in kawangware are having their fingers chopped off.
27th afternoon - Idle youths mostly from waithaka march along Naivasha road. Harassing anyone who looks like a NASA supporter. I repeat they were not Mungiki.
27th Evening - In 46/56 area, the rumour is that mungiki are on their way to kawangware. The NASA youth are more aggresive this time. Most kiuk businesses vandalized. Some burnt down. Cops shoot three dead. An innocent guy killed on false allegations that he is mungiki.

Weekend - Tension high but no further clashes.

I repeat stop these baseless rumours. The people who stand to lose most are innocent kiuks. People I know and care about.

You're kidding me?d'oh!

Who was WSR working for? Who is Arati pillaging for?

Shame on you

@jumpsteady, let me get this straight from you. Are you saying Baba told WSR to do it for him in the RV ? And I presume Baba forgot to tell his people in Nyanza to do the same ? Because I know very well there was not a single recorded kiuk fatality in Nyanza.

Do you remember that folklore we used to be told by our grandmas in the village ? The one where the hyena and rabbit agreed to each go home and beat up their wives ? I am sure you have heard the Mike Rua version. The hyena beat the wife to pulp while smart rabbit was beating a drum. Are you suggesting that is what happened in 2007 between Baba and WSR ?

And if you have been following up the happenings in Kawangware, you wouldn't even mention Arati. You and I know the NIS is monitoring his every movement. If he attempted to coordinate attacks, he would be arrested instantly.

It is likely your Aunt told you the same. Amolo knows how to exploit the "soft underbellies" of his opponents and all the time seem to be uninvolved.

Nation are true githeri media. They did not see the need to interview OCPD Dagoreti, Redcross or KNCHR.

First they throw a figure of 15 fatalities without providing context. Fact of the matter is 14 were killed by cops and one innocent kikuyu guy killed around congo area on friday on the false allegation that he was Mungiki.

Then in an article claiming politicians are the ones behind clashes in Kawangware, they claim both MPs, KJ and Arati refused to comment on the article. And they go ahead to quote an ODM MCA claiming gangs are being mobilized from dagoreti south.

KHNCHR, Red-cross and an online group calling themselves @RescueBnB have been on the ground from Thursday last week. The online group connect people who need shelter with well-wishers.

I am here thinking of a diehard NASA supporter in Migori reading the Nation story and he fills in the gaps left by the article. "That their people are being killed by Mungiki in Kawangware." And the idiot directs his anger to a hardworking Kikuyu family running their business in Migori.

I have sent a tweet to the Nation public editor, and to KJ.
