Declaring the results, the chairman of the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission, Mr Wafula Chebukati, said that Mr Kenyatta had garnered 8,203,290 votes, representing 54.27 per cent of the votes cast.
The ODM and Nasa candidate, Mr Raila Odinga, came in second with 6,762,224 votes, representing 44.74 per cent of the votes cast.
In total, 15,073,662 people cast their votes, representing 78.91 per cent of the registered voters . As at 11.30 pm today Uhuru had 7,370,246 votes excluding about 1000 polling stations of those that participated. Makofi to the son of our founding father! Viva! Yes Makofi. Something is wrong with those numbers, but I can’t put my finger on it. What are the correct numbers according to your source?
There were shorter queues on 26/10 than 8/8 election plus the uncertainities surrounding the election. Yet, Uhuru is almost matching the 8/8 numbers.

Voting for just 1/6 of number elective positions would not have an effect? Timewise? The greatest act of bravery is chancing a fart while suffering from diarrhoea

Not really because by the end of it, he will fall short by one million or so. His strong holds didn't turn up like on 8th because it was a smooth sail. Watu kama eskye said UK kwisha pita, no need to vote hehehe In other places where he made in-roads (read shocked NASA) people didn't turn up due to intimidation.BBC reported that, Githeri media will not tell you that. Look, I want to come home for Christmas, but I can't do placards and fake political analysts on TV, so please swear in Kamwana like now. I am happy

Let me sip my moringa tea from far.
I understand this is very depressing for you!!
Where did you get 6.5 million from? Chebukati tweeted last night that there best estimate was 48% turnout The 48% was a BEST estimate turnout from the team. Latest actual figures from 267 constituencies show 6,553,858 Kenyans turned out to vote. https://t.co/F01ewf79kT
35,564 polling stations opened in today's poll. Turn-out 48% (est.). 27,124 form 34As have been posted on portal https://t.co/0f0tlSfOVC
I am happy Back to top Those are tweets the resistance is quoting I am aware of these. I wanted FRM2011 to explain why they prefer to go with 6.5 million votes rather than 48% turnout which translates to 9.4 million voters?

Iebc can still declare winner..and have uhruto sworn in without single vote from nyanza...coz total number of votes from this area is now inconsequential..however,if elections must be held there 'to satisfy constitutional provisions' it will be purely for cosmetic reasons and this can be even next year since iebc has power to postpone elections - even indefinitely in areas where it is not safe

Wafula chebukati tweet "note that as more devices get network and report, the turn out figures get updated" NASA propaganda machine is soo strong they have already capitalised on this!

Where did you get 6.5 million from? It's very interesting how the biggest commentators on this elections on social media are the Nasarites who purportedly did not take part. I feel their pain. Next time ask ruoth to participate. BBI will solve it :)
