Why did the americans change their minds so fast. I can only guess that since obama snobbed his 'home' country,the airline did not feel convinced enough that kenya can be a direct route to the US. OOOOOoooohhh what a loss and dissapointments!

Why does the US gives us the cold shoulder,I can't understand. Is it something we refuse to give them. It has nothing to do with the current gava,there is a history of the successive US gava's snubbing Kenya.

They also have a similar cold uneasy relationship with Nigeria and India. May be the Brits want to retain their influence and have asked the US to keep off as part of some dodgy world domination deal.

The Obama presidency is happy to carry on from where Clinton and Bush left off. The last 3 US presidents have visited Ghana and TZ but not Kenya or Nigeria. The same way the US is more receptive to Pakistan but not to India. Why is this the case.

Where's the evidence that we are more exposed to terrorists than Tanzania or Egypt. We were both bombed in 1998 and for Egypt,they have had so many more terror attacks.

I can imagine a direct Delta flight from Nairobi to the US would cut out the Heathrow stop over. Oh and Delta also does direct flights from Accra,do they do one from Lagos? Not sure but if I was an airline,I would pick Lagos over Accra everyday.

I guess if you can't win with facts,you can always pen bile-laced,xenophobic rants to distract everyone.

@Obi: ...and Al Qaeda has told Obama that he is not welcome in Egypt. The issue of terrorism in Kenya does not suffice.

Impressive! The way you guys quickly catch-on to the news,I was scheduled on the flight ...(did not opt for alternate via Amsterdam) ... had discussions with Delta folks,the flight was stopped by Homeland Security without any specific reasons given,but,in all likelihood,it has to do with security or governmental relationship.

It was an ambitious schedule; four direct flights a week from ATL to NBO with a brief refuel stop in Dakar. Not sure what will happen to folks scheduled for flowers conference in US on a Delta flight...

It would have been a significant boast for Kenya's sagging tourist industry.

In cases like this,our gava has to directly engage the Homeland Security and iron out any pending issues,in all matters,we have to articulate for our own interests... it will NEVER be handed to us. It’s hardly constructive to yell imperialism and related empty rhetoric.

You could be right,i once spotted cows grazing inside the perimeter fence of JKIA as you drive from the Pride Center.

It shocked me ! I think it all has to do with security.
