Actually since naswa have said there will be no elections in nyanza on 26th, if I was iebc I would grant them this wish. Then ask govt to allow them demonstrate all day as they have requested. Iebc has power to postpone elections in regions where it is not conducive to hold polls

It's good to keep polling stations open and whoever wants to vote for Duda, Ekuru etc can vote. I guess their only problem is with UMK.

I think they have problem voting on umk birthdayLaughing out loudly . It is not too much to ask to postpone..in any case, the leaders in these regions have said categorically there will be no election in their region on that day. Why insist yo hold it on that same day when you can postpone

Postpone to when?

Baba is not ready for elections anytime soon.

Postpone by few days purely for security reasons...By the way he is not interested in elections any time soon...he has been quoted in sections of media saying (indirectly) the only thing that can solve the 2017 election crisis (considering what he is planning to do after 26th...which he hasn't fully disclosed)..is 'political solution'

That would not be good because it could also mean the results announcement will be delayed. We need to get over with these elections quickly.

BBI will solve it

Haha he wasn't interested in elections. You meet the conditions he says earlier ones are overtaken by events...thats why i find it ridiculous for people to insist that he meets umk for 'talks'. You cannot talk with someone keen to sabotage you while keeping all cards under the table, yet he expects you to keep all your cards above the table

Just read an article in Sunday Nation. Ati some guys are saying a political deal be made by Uhuru and Raila and then something about them going to supreme court after that

I doubt that will work seeing Aukot wants this election as much as Uhuru does. He wants no 2 bragging rights hence any attempt to postpone would most def mean he moves to court...

I decided to revisit these irreducibles and I realized that they were not systems aware, in that a little delay in execution of any of them would not result in the effects that one would infer to be intended.

In other words, the irreducables were quick fixes that were ill conceived and that were probably attempts to cover up ineptitude.

New word in town, the ballots we saw being delivered from Dubai are "DECOYS" actual ballots were printed in river road and marked and have also been counted already. Baba never amazes me anymore

Hadn't he suspended demos only last week? Or he realized morale is down and he needs a way to 'rejuvenate' his base ahead of 'major announcement' on wed w.r.t voting day?

Actually, turnout will be babu's lifeline

Fearing chaos, or because of actual chaos, many would be voters wont come out to vote in Nasa dominated areas and battleground counties

Should Uhuru end up getting something like 6.9 M votes due to violence and Raila absence apathy, Raila will be all over asking:

'kura milioni nane walitoa wapi?'

Yet Uhuru is fighting for at least 55%. If he hits that...The only way of UK removing the noise is hitting 10m. Can he?

I doubt 10M is achievable. I fear for voters especially in areas that are 50-50 like Nairobi

Nasa volunteer goons or even paid up ones could be demanding to see your little fingerSad

When it gets to that point, however much you believe in democracy and right to vote etc, leave the contest to Raila and Uhuru. You'll get another chance to vote

Remember there are demos on polling day. How will CBD voters go to their stations? How if after they get there will they vote when the goons try attack them and police lob teargas canisters? How many Kenyans are ready for such stress just for 1 vote? They'll give up saying the winner is known anyway...

Then Raila on the ballot excites mount kenya to vote...vote against him. With him out of the way, some may not bother to vote

Finally the other 5 elections are done and dusted. The guys who were fighting hard to see to see say Buzeki as governor now have no major factor to make them wake up early

mount kenya and the kalenjin rift valley will equal or exceed the 8/8 turnout. it is the swing counties that will break this election. many people in places like maasailand, kisii, taita and northern kenya go to the ballot because of the local governor and mp. now there is no mtu wetu on the ballot so they wont be deeply invested in either uhuru or raila. lukewarm uhuru supporters will stay at home. alafu kuna watu nairobi wataogopa mawe.

An election without Baba in the ballot is boring. The fear he instills in some quarters brings out large numbers to vote against him, not necessarily to vote in favour of their candidates.

I wonder what his grounds for petition this time round will be now that he has declared he will not be participating, despite his name being on the ballot.
