Of right to picket and abuse

This right to picket should be reviewed by parliament. Legislation should be put in place to guide the same and avoid wanton abuse like is happening now. If you picket today and present your grievances successfully, then how does it help to do same thing the following day or days? After the initial picketing, the entity affected should be required to file an official response to the grievances, and if the party organizing the picketing is not satisfied, they should go to court or mutually agree to get an arbitrator. But this daily, mindless chicken wanton destruction of property in the name of bill of rights is actually primitive.

Looks like the whole constitution should be changed...back to Kenyatta I for us.

Read on citizen weekly that the ultimate card up in the sleeve is 'parallel govt', powered by mass action- end justifies the means mentality. Good thing macang'i has nipped this in the bud by banning these mindless protests

Could the term picket be confusing to the demonstrators? One can easily pick pocket from it... Laughing out loudly

Laughing out loudly

But by banning the demos, isn't this not what Amolo is looking for so that the death numbers go up and thereby strengthen his case of sneaking into government?

We need a statute to guide this picketing. Existing provision in constitution is too vague and open to abuse.

In US, they have designated Free Speech Zones.......this allows the government to regulate time,place and manner but not content of expression.....huko hata ukifungua server no problem. Parliament should look at this but i would also suggest they make the entire Kisumu and its environs, a free speech zonesmile
