Congratulations Mr. President. I wish you nothing but the best. I wish you bring to the National Olympic Committee of Kenya the same success you had as an athlete.

Paul Tergat elected Nock president

Kukula mali yake polepole after a long career of hard work.

This is my favorite Tergat moment even though he came in second. Sidney Olympics 2000, 10000m.

A few interesting facts about Paul Tergat

He is the most popular Kenyan in Ethiopia. If you meet any Ethiopian anywhere in the world if they know only one Kenyan chances are it is Paul Tergat.

At the height of his running career he was the second most recognizable African face in Brazil after Nelson Mandela. He won Brazil's most popular race The Saint Silvester road Race 5 times and is still the course record holder for the record he set in 1995.

One time he and his friend Moses Tanui were just hanging around in the US when they were hunted down by the Secret Service and taken to the White House. Turns out George Bush was a huge fan and when he heard they were in the country he asked his guys to bring them to the white house to meet them.

There is a running culture in the US that does not exist in Kenya.

Each country has its culture of celeb worship. In Tz musicians are most popular,Athletes are adored in Ethiopia while in Kenya we worship at the altar of the politicians!

Wrong forever on the throne
