I am sure the disgusted monkey would have eaten cucumbers to it's fullest if it didn't see the other chewing "nyama" ahem sorry grapes!
This illustrates to us the disgust people feel when others are paid better, higher e.t.c. for the same task we are doing! we are usually very happy to join a team but if we realise that there is inequality... the cucumber we have doesn't taste as sweet as it did before we knew about the inequality. This I propose is our problem as society - if people stole or were paid better than others and they did not flaunt their wealth... we would be in a better place but as soon as someone flaunts wealth... Social inequity aversion kicks in! This explain the unrest in the world of Facebook and Instagram where people "show" how they have been "blessed" with fancy stuff and trips to random places.
