Chances of Kenya hosting this event are not impressive to the football adoring fans. @Alba, what's your take? Apparently, M01 sabotaged the 1996 AFCON for political reasons. More about the same can be read HERE. Since wa Ngina is a political protege of the old man, is he applying the same tactics, considering the region that dominates the sport?

If Rwanda hosted the event, why not us, Mr. President? Hapo, hatuko pamoja?

YEP Moi did indeed sabotage CAN 1996 for political reasons. Moi was a football fan but politics outweighed his fandom. As a result of the fiasco, Kenya was banned from both 1996 and 1998 CAN tournaments.

In the case of Uhuru, I think he and his cabinet simply don't care about sports. He probably doesn't even know what CHAN is. Nor does he care if Kenya is banned by CAF again.

I personally think KFF should stop bidding for tournaments until we actually have stadia in place. Its better to focus on building grassroots football and youth development.

Rumour has it that we've been stripped the rights to host the event.

We were not ready and we were never going to be ready. Those who lead sports in this country are jokers and jerks if they thought we had a chance with our rubbish stadia. We should be happy of the decision as we have spared ourselves total embarrassment. Let's move onSad

If the stadia were ready, political uncertainty would not have been a factor.
This event was awarded to Kenya in 2014 yet 4 out of 5 stadia are not ready.
And those seats at Kasarani without backrest are horrible. All in all , CAF inspectors are not impressed with Kenya.

Kenya leaders don't see the economic and social benefits of sports. But they are quick to pose for photo opportunities when a person wins a medal. That's why after Rio 2016, the athletes refused to pose for pictures with politicians.

While Rut0 was busy shouting about stadiums during Chublee manifesto launch in Kasarani. The CHAN 2018 remained a dream.

They knew it is but dream, but because the eyes were on money, the disease of impunity took over!
