The article reflects the reality.Stocks over longterm pays much returns than land.However i believe in diversification.A portfolio which is balanced should be like this:
1.Stocks-55%
2.Bonds-30%
3.Land-15%
i believe this is a winning combination over long term.

Interesting article, but I think the 1% have a lot of everything, including land to say nothing of real estate. I remember a dispute between Mark Zuckerberg and Hawaiians over 700 acres of land.

What caught my eye though, is the discussion (in comments) about how the wealth gap in the US has arisen and the number of safety net programs they have to make up for low wages and/or wage stagnation.
