On president, Meru Nasarites are quite vocal, but they are seriously outnumbered. Another issue is that most of Meru Nasarites are the middle class who are likely to be registered in Kajiado, Nairobi, Kiambu etc. Those registered in Meru are mainly "watu wa Nairobi" or the "elite" who are generally considered out of touch with the grassroots. The grassroot guys like humilating these other guys. One MCA was felled when "watu wa nairobi" started campaigning for him, akaambiwa watu wao hao wampigie kura. NASA can however make a dent in Meru if they engage grassroot mobilizers. They should forget the elite who have always campaigned for them and do serious ground work to counter the "Mount Kenya Mafia" characterisation. The grassroot guys are the guys who can speak to the people in a language closer to their hearts and allay fears of marginalization in a NASA government. NASA can use Munya's money (he now has money compared to 2013 when he was a Kiraitu protégé) to recruit these grassroot campaigners. But, if they go to Meru with a "thieves" rhetoric that Munya is advancing, I do not see any hope. Lets just say its Munya, the party has disowned him Munya has money from where? He must have exhausted it in his campaigns Perhaps, but If he has burned all the cash he had accumulated (auditor's reports have always had interesting stuff on Meru county) on campaigns, then NASA should abandon him. My theory is that a poor Munya has no value for NASA. He is arrogant and his history with Kiraitu makes him a liability for the base that NASA can mobilise using him. The widespread view in Munya's core base is that they collaborated with Kiraitu to rob Kilemi, the base's favored son, victory in 2013. I know Kilemi had negligible votes in 2017, but this, in my view, was largely due to intense sub-tribe competition that led to intense lobbying not to split votes - Even Gatobu, the yo in officeung mp, dropped out last minute. I do not think Nasa are that incompetent to be saddled with a poor Munya as a "principal". Bwahahahahahahahaaaaaa! Ati Munya is now a Nasa principal. A principal with insignificant basket of votes. Munya's problem started when he started massaging his own ego soon after the 2013 general elections. For one he owed his position then to his association with Kiraitu. Without Kiraitu he had only the Tigania, not the Imenti, Igembe and that could not get him anywhere. Secondly, once in office started employing largely the Tigania people. Those dusty roads largely in Tigania subregion were largely upgraded and then started squeezing the small business holders largely in Imenti which earned him their wrath...remember the 2014 demonstrations in larger Meru and the hanging high of the dog which they called Munya. It seemed like the kiosks demolitions in Meru was the cause of the demonstrations, but it was not the case Thirdly, the grand fallout with Kiraitu and other smaller people like Mithika. I don't see Munya recovering any time soon unless he goes back "home" and waits for Kiraitu to finish his two terms as governor. ...besides, the presence of a safe alone does not signify that there is money inside...

High-profile figures — including moneybags businessman Jimmy Wanjigi who promised big bucks but didn’t deliver — will be kicked out.
As it tries for a knock-out punch against President Uhuru Kenyatta — in 54 days — Raila Odinga’s opposition aims for a lean, efficient team running a better-organised and lubricated campaign.
Wanjigi and campaign secretariat chief Willis Otieno top the list of those to be purged in the regrouping for an intense, hit-the-ground-running campaign.
The decision to expel Wanjigi was reached at the weekend in Kilaguni, Taita Taveta, where Raila and NASA principals retreated to plot their campaign, create new structures and start fundraising. Receive with simplicity everything that happens to you.” ― Rashi

In the current formation of new campaign teams, i vote for Martha Karua to explain to Nawa that there will be NO nusu mkate this time, the suspense is becoming eerily similar to the 2007 delays, she is a lawyer understands the katiba, and did much better than Munya, in my view, this is the best weapon to finish Raila with, for which she would get a plum job. This thing called Tribalism.
Why do some people hate each other so much?
Why does it matter what someone's last name is?
This electoral season alone, I have unfollowed & unfriended a whole lot of people spewing hate and intolerance. It is shocking, especially coming from my agemates.
I never experienced tribalism in school. Never. I studied with Whites, Asians, Rwandese, Congolese, Sudanese, Egyptians & fellow Kenyans. It never crossed my mind that we were any different. We were punished the same, played the same and studied the same. Today, I cannot get a point across regarding current affairs without being branded a psychophant or a sell-out. Allow me to state the following:
1. For those who may not know, I have done work for both H.E. Uhuru Kenyatta & Rt. Hon. Raila Odinga. Why both? Because it's just business to me. I am not a politician & have no desire to be one. As such, I treat them both as Brands. (Just like the Corporate Clients I work for).
2. I have no allegiance to any of these 2 people. I rejected any political work this time round. It shocked many who kept adding the value of their offers. Truthfully, I did it because I did not want to be involved in a tribal circus. I foresaw how divisive the campaigns would be. My conscience would not allow me to be partisan to dividing this country in the name of a generous payday.
3. When I called out NASA's demonstrations, I did it because I am anti-violence & anti-anarchy. But no, I was labelled a Jubilee Psychophant. Others said it is because I am half Kikuyu. LOL!
4. When I called out H.E.'s reckless behaviour, I did so because rule of law must be followed even when one does not feel like. But no, I was labelled a sell-out. Others even said my account had been hacked! Again, LOL!
Folks, let me set the record straight.
I) Being a "Kikuyu" does not mean I should vote or support Uhuru. Such thinking is backward & shallow.
II) Having a "Kikuyu" Presidency does not make me better placed to succeed in life or in business. Kikuyus will not be invited to State House to be given 10k each. Neither will we get free tenders.
III) The 'Presidency' only benefits the 'inner circle'. If you are not in this league, do not expect your life to change, regardless of whether it is Uhuru or Raila in power. Your bank account will continue to observe status quo.
If we truly understood these truths, why would we still hate each other? We need to unite on the basis of the shared need for progress. Hating someone because they are not from the same tribe as I am has never been a thought for me, & nothing will ever make it one. Similarly, coming from the 'same tribe' will never make me align with someone. Such thinking will never have any space in my mind. Neither should it fill any vacancy in yours.
