IT'S TIME TO MOVE ON...

I believe 15 years on is an appropriate to time to re-evaluate. I plunged into politics late 2002, and completed my term at the Senate just over a week ago. During that period, I was out of parliament 2008 - 2013. I did not vie for any elective post in the last General election and do not intend to do so in future, insha Allah. Its time to move on.

Leadership is a calling, not a job. It requires sacrifice & patience as one seeks to influence change in society. Alhamdulillah, I have done my utmost to deliver on trust & responsibility bestowed on me. Allah will judge me on it and I seek His mercy for my shortcomings.

I thank Mandera residents and Kenyans in general for the opportunity to serve them in humility. As I pursue other interests in life, I will endeavour to contribute to the development of our great nation in other ways.

To my many friends & followers on the social media, my accounts will remain active but only on social matters.

Hassan overestimated his popularity. He should have run for senate. He's an activist and not a politician and activists have been floored everywhere. That was a terrible error on his part.
